Abstract: A method, a terminal, and a system for changing a client mode are provided to change the client mode for maximally/efficiently using terminal resources with high security. The terminal(414) detects a mounted client module(412), transmits user information inputted from the user to an authentication server, and receives authentication information for a client module use right by responding to the user information confirmed in the authentication server. The client module includes at least one of a rich client mode module(16), a thin client mode module(17), and a software streaming mode module(18) to be respectively replaced. The terminal is operated by using a program stored in the detected and confirmed client module. The client module includes a CPU, and a storing part storing a booting program for booting the terminal according to the client module, an OS(Operating System) for the client module and the terminal, and the information needed for changing the client module.
