Abstract: A contents management device and a method thereof are provided to offer services efficiently by providing an independent link mode for providing information needed for DRM(Digital Rights Management) and billing service, cope with a change of DRM rules through a simple interface, and apply a plurality of right information and price models to a contents file. An attribute modeler(310) defines attribute elements into a predetermined form according to a contents type. A category manager(330) generates a predetermined category mapped to the contents type. A UI(User Interface) provider(320) provides a screen for inputting an attribute information value according to a kind of the generated category. A mapper(350) applies the mapped attribute information value to a contents file by mapping the received parameter information value to the contents file. A caller(325) calls an external library needed for encoding DRM according to contents of a code inputted from a user. The attached information value includes at least one of right information and a price model of the contents. The mapper maps the contents files related to the contents file with each other.
