Abstract: An infrared ray detector according to the present invention includes a silicon substrate having a channel region where a channel is formed, a gate recess which is formed with a constant depth in the silicon substrate, a source which is adjacent to one side of the gate recess and doped with a first conductivity type, a drain which is adjacent to the other side of the gate recess and doped with a second conductivity type, and a gate which is formed by interposing a gate insulating layer in the recess. The infrared ray detector detects an infrared ray which is emitted to the bonding part of the source and the channel region. The wavelength of an infrared ray to be detected is controlled by controlling bias applied to the gate.
