The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for providing emergency information and supplementary information. A terminal for providing emergency information and supplementary information includes an EWAS processor to receive an EWAS signal, to determine whether an EWC is included in the EWAS signal, and to decode the EWC for acquiring the emergency information and the supplementary information; a region based service unit to decode the emergency information and the supplementary information to acquire service information including at least one service item, and to express an item label, an item description, broadcasting link information, and communications link information on the service item; and a terminal base function unit accessing a Wi-Fi network or a mobile communications network to perform communications or accessing a T-DMB network to receive broadcasting according to selection of a user, and to control web browsing environment for acquiring additional information through Internet access provided from the mobile communications network or Wi-Fi network. An automatic recognition service and a region based service are used to the highest degree as an advantage of an automatic recognition emergency broadcasting service and a low data transmission rate may be compensated.

An apparatus and a method for providing a digital broadcast signal are provided. The apparatus for providing a digital broadcast signal comprises a disaster broadcast unit which detects a first disaster message signal from a terrestrial DMB signal, and generates a second disaster message signal including a disaster broadcast activation data for emergency alert service for a radio shadow area based on a first field value of the first disaster message signal; and a broadcast signal relay unit which controls transmission of the second disaster massage signal transmitted from the disaster broadcast unit.

Disclosed in the present specification is the broadcasting transmission apparatus which comprises an ATSC signal generation unit to transmit an ATSC signal in accordance with ATSC transmission standards; a low-speed data signal generation unit which has the same frequency range as that of the ATSC signal, and transmits at least one narrow-band signal located in a null frequency domain of an NTSC removal filter; a coupling unit to couple the ATSC signal to the at least one narrow-band signal; and an RF transmission unit to transmit the signal, coupled by the coupling unit, as an RF signal.

OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에서 수신채널 특성을 분석하는 수신기를 제공한다. 상기 수신기는 수신채널을 통해 수신된 신호를 기저대역 신호로 다운 컨버팅(down converting)하고, 상기 다운 컨버팅된 신호에 대해 동기(synchronization) 및 고속 푸리에 변환(Fast Fourier Transformation: FFT)을 수행하여 분석대상신호를 출력하는 동기획득부, 및 상기 분석대상신호에 대한 수신기의 필터특성에 의한 제1 오류를 소거(cancellation)하고, 상기 분석대상신호에 대한 역고속 푸리에 변환(Inverse FFT: IFFT)시 주파수상의 보호대역(guard band)내의 널 부반송파(null subcarrier)에 의한 채널임펄스 응답의 제2 오류를 소거하며, 상기 제1 및 제2 오류가 소거된 상기 분석대상신호를 기반으로 상기 수신채널을 분석하는 수신채널 분석부를 포함한다. 수신기 자체의 오류 값을 최대한 줄임으로써 수신 채널의 특성 분석에 대한 신뢰도를 높일 수 있다.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for analyzing reception channel properties are provided to enhance reliability for the characteristic analysis of a reception channel by maximally reducing an error value of a receiver oneself. CONSTITUTION: A source coding unit(210) encodes an analog source data like a video signal and an audio signal based on MPEG(Motion Picture Experts Group)-2. A channel coding and interleaving unit(220) performs channel coding and interleaving for correcting errors of encoded source data. A multiplexing unit(230) multiplexes source data of different kinds or data of different channels. A FIC(Fast Information Channel) synchronization unit(240) induces the synchronization of a symbol corresponding to a fast information channel from OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols generated from an OFDM modulator(250). The OFDM modulator maps an inputted data stream to a plurality of subcarriers in a frequency domain. The OFDM modulator generates the OFDM symbols through FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) and IFFT(Inverse FFT) processing.

CONSTITUTION: A disaster message generating unit(100) generates first and second service streams. A first disaster broadcasting multiplexer(300_1) selectively inserts a null stream to the first service stream. The first disaster broadcasting multiplexer multiplexes a first service bit ratio in a first broadcasting channel standard. A second disaster broadcasting multiplexer(300_2) selectively inserts the stream stretched on the second service stream.

CONSTITUTION: An Ensemble MUX(Multiplexer)(240) multiplexes the disaster message of the disaster message generator(100a) in the ETI(Ensemble Transport Interface) frame of an ETI frame generator(230). According to the bit rate of a transfer rate controller(110), video stream bit rate controllers(140a~140c) switch the normally RS(Reed-Solomon) encoded stream of RS encoders(130a~130c) and the null stream of the generators(150a~150c) of an abnormally RS encoded null stream through video stream switches(141a~141c).
