영상 부호화 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 슬라이스 내의 블록에 대한 영상 부호화를 수행하는 경우, 슬라이스의 복원된 블록 중 적어도 하나의 블록이 참조 블록으로 결정된다. 그러면, 상기 참조 블록의 부호화 파라미터가 판별되고, 상기 부호화 파라미터에 기반하여 부호화 대상 블록이 적응적으로 부호화된다.

A motion estimation encoding/decoding apparatus and a method thereof are provided to reduce bits wasted due to the reflection of an amount of illumination change by compressing an amount of the illumination change using spatial closeness of illumination change occurrence areas. An illumination change compensating module(320) differentiates a pixel average value of a present block and a pixel average value of a reference block to perform illumination change compensation. A residual signal generator(330) generates a residual signal by differentiating the present block having been subject to the illumination change compensation the reference block having been subject to the illumination change corresponding to a motion vector. An illumination change predicting module(340) sets an illumination change amount of a neighboring block, which has been subject to the illumination change compensation, as the prediction value of the illumination change amount of the present block. The illumination change predicting module performs a DPCM(Differential Pulse Code Modulation) based on the illumination change amount of the present block and the prediction value of the illumination change amount.

PURPOSE: A method for adaptively estimating a motion vector in a multi-view image and a method thereof are provided to reduce a motion vector difference using only blocks related to a current frame among surrounding blocks, thereby increasing a compression rate. CONSTITUTION: A block detecting unit(110) detects only blocks, which refers to the same block as a block to which a current block temporally or spatially refers, among blocks adjacent to the current block. An adaptive estimating unit(140) calculates an estimation motion vector value based on the number of blocks and motion vectors of blocks which are detected in a temporal vector estimating unit or a spatial vector estimating unit. PURPOSE: A method for determining a mode in decoding a multi-focusing animation by efficiently removing the spatial expectation coding is provided to determine a coding mode at high speed through rate-distortion optimization. CONSTITUTION: A macro block is included in a frame which does not use inter-view prediction and inter prediction(S304). A decoding mode is determined according to the rate-distortion cost of macro block(S305). The frame type coding the macro block is confirmed whether the frame type is P frame or B frame(S306). The encoding mode is determined according to the coded block pattern of macro block(S307). The macro block is included in the image data(S309).

A multi-view video encoding system, a decoding system, and a bitstream extracting system for decoding a base view point and supporting view random access are provided to decode an image encoded at the base view point in multi-view video encoding for providing reverse compatibility in a decoder of an existing advanced video encoder. A video signal photographed through a plurality of cameras is encoded through multi-view video encoding. An encoding unit(401) encodes the video signal at a base view point or a multi view point. A base view point identifier adding unit(402) adds the base view point identifier with regard to the base view point to a parameter set.

본 발명은 서로 다른 시점(viewpoint)을 가지는 복수의 카메라가 각기 촬영한 다시점(multi-viewpoint) 동영상 데이터들을 부호화하기 위하여 적응적으로 움직임 벡터를 예측하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명은 현재 블록의 인접 블록 중 현재 블록이 시간적 또는 공간적으로 참조하는 블록과 동일한 블록을 참조하는 블록만을 검출하는 블록 검출부; 및 블록 검출부에서 검출된 블록의 움직임 벡터를 기초로 현재 블록의 예측 움직임 벡터값을 구하는 적응적 예측부를 포함하여 적응적으로 움직임 벡터를 예측함으로써 압축률을 개선한다.

A predictive coding/decoding apparatus and a method thereof using view-temporal reference picture buffers are provided to reduce the quantity of data of a single view encoder by effectively removing redundancy information between view points. A predictive coding apparatus includes a multi-view reference picture providing unit(340), a prediction unit(310), a transform and quantization unit(320), and an entropy encoder(330). The multi-view reference picture providing unit provides a reference picture for predictive encoding according to spatial-temporal GOP(Group Of Picture) information. The prediction unit predicts which part of the reference picture is referred by a picture to be currently coded and generates a vector. The transform and quantization unit obtains a differential signal between a prediction signal received from the prediction unit and a video signal to be currently coded, transforms and quantizes the differential signal, and compresses the signal. The entropy encoder encodes the quantized signal received from the transform and quantization unit and the vector provided by the prediction unit.
