    Abstract: PURPOSE: A ventilation opening 0.75 kilometers long minimizing pressure fluctuation for a short tunnel use is provided to decrease pressure fluctuation up to 50% by determining the distance, the number and the diameter of a ventilation opening, also decreasing micro-pressure wave up to 40%. CONSTITUTION: When a train enters a tunnel, a pressure wave generates and the pressure wave gets transmitted into the inside the tunnel, then a micro-pressure wave radiates from an exit. The micro-pressure wave is considered to be a shock wave, therefore causing vibration and damaging neighboring things as well as internal organs of a human being. According to the test data, a tunnel with 28 square meters and 0.75 kilometers long needs 38 ventilation openings to decrease a micro-pressure wave up to 40%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a hood for decreasing micro-pressure wave of a rail tunnel with 0.25Km grade of length extension to greatly reduce the micro-pressure wave generated during a high entering speed of a train into the tunnel and to decrease noise and vibration at an exit side of the tunnel. CONSTITUTION: The hood comprises inclined banks at an entrance and an exit of a rail tunnel having a length of 0.25km. The bank at the entrance has a slope angle of 45 degrees while the other bank at the exit has a slope angle of 15 degrees. Each of the entrance and the exit is in a slave track pattern and the banks are extended corresponding to perpendicular cross-section of the tunnel at the entrance/exit portions. The hood has a longitudinal end being gradually shorter from lower sides to upper sides of the entrance/exit portions to be inclined.
