Abstract: A combination structure of a footrest for preventing injuries of ankles of drivers is provided to restrict the ankles from being wounded by adjusting freely the rotational angle of the footrest by an angle regulating member. In an automatic transmission-mounted vehicle having a footrest(1) for repressing a tendency to operate an accelerator pedal with the driver's left foot by relieving the left foot, a lower end of the footrest is hung and restricted by a holding bracket(11) fixed on a floor. An upper end of the footrest is fastened to a dash panel by a first hinge shaft(12) to rotate the footrest when the footrest is separated from the holding bracket. An angle regulating member is combined on a rear side of the footrest to prevent drivers' ankles from being wounded according to the rotational angle of the footrest and the dash panel when offset of the dash panel is generated in a collision.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A footrest combining structure for preventing ankles from fracturing in a collision of a vehicle is provided to dismantle automatically a footrest by a dash panel thrust into a driver's seat in an accident. CONSTITUTION: A structure for combining a dash panel(1) set up obliquely from a floor(2) of a vehicle and a flat-board footrest(30) fixed on the floor at the predetermined inclination angle is composed of a leaf spring(10) of which a spring bent combining unit(11) is welded and fixed on the dash panel and a lower part is bent and inserted into a spring bracket(15) settled on the floor; a connection block(20) separated from the leaf spring bracket, projected upward and combined on the floor, and made of a fragile material; and the footrest combined to cover the leaf spring apart from the leaf spring. An upper end of the footrest is bent and welded with the spring bent combining unit and a lower side is joined with the connection block fixed on the floor. Accordingly, the footrest combining structure welds or screw-combines the leaf spring, the connection block, and the footrest and prevents ankles from fracturing by elastic force of the leaf spring and fragile property of the connection block according to the displacement of the dash panel that is thrust inward in a collision of the vehicle.
