Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to compensate the EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) flow of a vehicle by controlling the EGR valve using a learning value which reflects the variation of differential pressure between two sides of the EGR valve. CONSTITUTION: A method for compensating the EGR flow of a vehicle comprises the steps of: measuring EGR duties before and after EGR cooler bypass in a specific driving condition and extracting the difference between the duties(S103), comparing the EGR duty difference with the set reference value(S104), determining the accumulation of soot in an EGR cooler(S106), extracting a correction value according to the accumulation rate(S107), and compensating the EGR rate by applying the correction value to the EGR valve duty(S108).
