Abstract: An electronic device detects a change in intensity of an input on an input element that includes detecting an increase in intensity followed by a decrease in intensity, and recognizing at least a portion of the change in intensity of the input as a first input event that is associated with a first operation, for example a single click operation. After recognizing the first input event, the device delays performance of the first operation while monitoring subsequent changes in intensity of the input for a second input event, wherein the delay is limited by a default delay time period. If the second event is recognized before default delay time period has elapsed, a second operation is performed and the first operation is not performed. Abstract: An electronic device displays a user interface of a first software application that includes one or more draggable objects and one or more control objects; and, detects a contact on a touch sensitive surface at a first location while a focus selector is displayed over a first draggable object and a movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface to a second location that corresponds to a first control object. Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, data to present a user interface with a plurality of user interface objects, and a current focus is on a first user interface object. The device receives an input corresponding to movement of a contact across a touch-sensitive surface. Abstract: At an electronic device with one or more processors and memory, wherein the electronic device is in communication with a display and a user input device that includes a touch sensitive surface, data to present a user interface including media content and a current focus is provided to the display. While the display is presenting the user interface, a first input is received that corresponds to movement of a contact across the touch-sensitive surface of the user input device. The movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface includes: a first component of movement of the contact that corresponds to movement along a first axis on the display, and a second component of movement of the contact that corresponds to movement along a second axis on the display that is perpendicular to the first axis. The current focus is moved in the user interface, in response to receiving the first input, by a distance that is based: at least on the magnitude of the first component of movement, if it is determined that the first axis is a dominant axis; and on the magnitude of the first component of movement and the magnitude of the second component of movement, wherein the distance of movement of the current focus is reduced by a scaling factor, if it is determined that the first axis is not a dominant axis.
