The reinforcement element for reinforcing the structure of a door of a vehicle extends along a main direction and comprises at least a main portion having a reinforcing cross- section (40) extending in a plane substantially perpendicular to the main direction. The reinforcing cross-section (40) comprises at least four adjacent branches (42a, 42b, 42c, 42d, 42e, 42f, 42g), each extending in different directions, two successive branches forming a non-zero angle, at least two of said non-zero angles being of opposite signs.
Abstract:
A longitudinal member is provided. The longitudinal member includes a front end provided with a hinge element for attaching the longitudinal member in an articulated manner to a heavy goods vehicle body, and a rear end including an attachment element for attaching the longitudinal member in a non-permanent manner to the heavy goods vehicle body. The longitudinal member includes a front part extending from the front end to an intermediate area of the longitudinal member and a rear part extending from the intermediate area to the rear end of the longitudinal member. The product (PF) of the wall thickness (tF) of the front part by the yield strength (YsF) of the material of the front part is greater than the product (PR) of the wall thickness (tR) of the rear part by the yield strength (YsR) of the material of the rear part.

A method for producing a three-dimensional vehicle door frame inner reinforcement element (52) comprising an inner center pillar part (66), an inner front pillar part (68), an inner side rail part (64) joining the inner center pillar part (66) and the inner front pillar part (68), and a roof reinforcement part (70). The method comprises: - providing an inner center pillar blank, an inner front pillar blank, an inner side rail blank and a roof reinforcement blank made integral with the inner side rail blank, said blanks being substantially planar, - assembling by means of welding the inner center pillar blank and the inner front pillar blank to the inner side rail blank in order to form a substantially planar door frame inner reinforcement blank, - hot stamping the door frame inner reinforcement blank to shape the three-dimensional door frame inner reinforcement element (52), the roof reinforcement part being obtained by hot stampingthe roof reinforcement blank.
