    Abstract: A method for determining the optimum control parameter values for a screw joint tightening process carried out by a power wrench which is controlled by a programmable control system utilising the determined parameter values, comprising the steps of providing the control system with screw joint characteristic parameter values and operation parameter values characteristic for the actually used power wrench, simulating mathematically the tightening process by using the screw joint and power wrench characteristic parameter values as well as pre-chosen operation control parameter values, and evaluating the result of the simulated tightening process in view of predetermined evaluation criteria, thereby determining the suitable operation control parameter values to used during production tightening of the actual type of screw joint.

    Abstract: A method and a device for tightening threaded joints to a desired pretension level using a manually operated power nutrunner and controlling the tightening process by determining during the tensioning phase the instantaneous growth per time unit of the torque resistance from the joint, and adapting continuously the rotation speed of the nutrunner in relation to the determined instantaneous torque growth per time unit so as to obtain the same reaction force characteristics in the nutrunner handle for all joints, regardless of differences in torque resistance growth per angle of rotation between the joints.

Each winding coil leg is confined within an envelope (22) of a thin, flexible, non-conductive non-magnetizable material which is impregnated with and bonded to the next legs as well as to the flux collector ring (16) by a hot-setting resinous material.
