Abstract: Salts of 3-isopropyl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazin-4-one 2,2-dioxide of general formula (I) are prepared by: a) reacting 3-isopropyl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazin-4-one 2,2-dioxide in water with an ammonium salt of the general formula (IIIb), where X is the anion of an acid having a pKA greater than 4 or the hydroxyl ion, and n is equal to the number of negative charges on the anion X; or b) reacting the sodium salt of 3-isopropyl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazin-4-one 2,2-dioxide in water with an ammonium salt of the general formula (IIIc), where Y is the anion of an acid, and n is equal to the number of negative charges on the anion Y. In the formula (I), (IIIb) and (IIIc), R1, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower hydroxyalkyl.
