    Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic molding materials which contain A) 10 to 98.9 wt.-% of a thermoplastic polymer, B) 1 to 30 wt.-% of a flame-retardant combination consisting of, based on 100 wt.-% of B), b1) 20 to 99 wt.-% of a halogen-containing flame retardant, b2) 1 to 80 wt.-% of an antimonoxide, C) 0.1 to 5 wt.-% of a stabilizer which is not component b2) or D), D) 0 to 70 wt.-% of further additives. The invention is further characterized in that the total of the weight percentages of components A) to D) is 100 %.

    Abstract: In the present invention, there is disclosed a process for the continuous production of polybutylene terephthalate from terephthalic acid and butanediol, the process comprising a) direct esterification of terephthalic acid with 1,4-butanediol in a reactor series consisting of at least two reactors; b) pre-condensation of the product of esterification obtained in step a); and c) the polycondensation of the pre-condensate obtained in the step b), wherein the reactor series in step a) is operated with a falling reaction pressure and a non-rising temperature.
