Abstract: Polycarbonate is incorporated in amounts of 1-50 wt% in polyester-based thermoplastic moulding materials containing metal salt(s) of a phosphinic acid and/or diphosphinic acid and/or their polymers and optionally other additives. Thermoplastic moulding materials, containing : (A) 20-98 wt% polyester, (B) 1-50 wt% polycarbonate, (C) 1-40 wt% phosphinic acid salt of formula (I) and/or diphosphinic acid salt of formula (II) and/or their polymers; (D) 0-40 wt% nitrogen-containing fire retardant; (E) 0-50 wt% ester or amide of an optionally unsaturated 10-40C aliphatic carboxylic acid and a 2-40C saturated aliphatic alcohol or amine; and (F) 0-60 wt% other additives. R , R = linear or branched 1-6C alkyl, phenyl or H; R = linear or branched 1-10C alkylene, arylene, alkylarylene or arylalkylene; M = alkaline earth or alkali metal, zinc, aluminum, iron or boron; m, n = 1-3; x = 1 or 2. An Independent claim is also included for moulded products obtained from these materials.

The invention is further characterized in that the total of the weight percentages of components A) to D) is 100 %.
