Abstract: The invention relates to the production of mouldings based on a particulate material as additive and an aqueous binding agent containing an acrylate polymer, the additive being moistened with the binding agent, converted into the desired shape and subsequently dried, characterised in that a binding agent is employed whose binder is an acrylate polymer whose glass transition range is relatively high and which is built up from (A) predominantly methyl methacrylate, (B) a minor amount of (meth)acrylic acid, (C) if desired, a minor amount of an alkyl ester of acrylic acid and (D) if desired, a small amount of other specific polymerisable compounds.

Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), by application of an aq. prepn. contg. (A) to at least one surface of the green concrete, and drying the prepn. by hardening the concrete. These compounds are suitable for use as emulsifiers for dispersions.

Abstract: (1) Moulded prods. (I) are claimed contg., as main components, finely-divided natural or synthetic materials (II) and condensation prods. (2) (I) are produced (a) by mechanically mixing (II) with an aq. mixt. of (IV) and (V) as binder, removing excess binder, moulding the resulting prod. and drying at 100-250 deg.C. or (b) by moulding (II) with binder, coating with the above aq. mixt. and dyring as in (b). - (I) contain 0.5-15 wt.% (III) based on equiv. amts. of (IV) and (V) (w.r.t. COOH and OH/amino gps.); (III) are based on polymeric acids contg. 5-50 mol.% COOH-contg. monomer units (pref. with K-value 50-100 in DMF at 25 deg.C.), pref. condensation prods. of (IV) and polymeric polyalcohols with K-value (see above) 40-80, esp. pref. condensates of (IV), trimethylolpropane, glycerol, 2-hydroxymethylbutane-1,4-diol, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, ethylenediamine or tetramethylenediamine; or (III) are condensates of (IV) contg. at least 50 mol.% COOH-contg. monomer units, pref. polymeric acids whose Na salts have K-value 90-130 in water at 25 deg.C. with trimethylolpropane, glycerol or 2-hydroxymethyl-butane-1,4-diol.
