Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the using value such as a water absorption as an internally laying material for a container of fresh fish or the like by manufacturing a flexible polyurethane foam using polyol containing a hydrophilic organic acid metal salt and/or its polymer, isocyanate, water and a catalyst, a foaming agent and other additives, and molding the polyurethane foam into a desired shape. SOLUTION: As a metal salt to be used of a polyol containing a hydrophilic organic acid metal salt and/or its polymer, a sodium salt of an organic acid, or the like is effective, and a polyol wherein polyol/an organic acid metal salt are polymerized or mixed by a ratio of 50/50 to 95/5 is preferable. The polyol containing the organic acid metal salt and/or its polymer is at least 20 to 100 wt.% based on 100 wt.% of the total polyol, and the organic acid metal salt is acrylic sodium. The polyol obtained in such a manner is used by being blended with a polyol which is normally used for the manufacture of a flexible polyurethane foam, and the obtained polyurethane foam has an extremely high hydrophilic property.
