    Abstract: A process for producing a flexible polyurethane foam by reacting a polyhydroxy compound and a polyisocyanate compound in the presence of a blowing agent. The polyhydroxy compound is one in which an aldehyde condensation polymer has been formed by polycondensation and dispersed such that it accounts for, preferably, from 5 to 30 wt% of the total amount of the polyhydroxy compound, and adding as a flame retardant a melamine powder preferably in an amount of from 5 to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyhydroxy compound. The resulting foams combine good flame retardance with high hardness and compressive strength.

    Abstract: A sealing material is prepared by furnishing a liquid composition comprising a polydiene or polyolefin polyol, a polyisocyanate compound, a foam stabilizer, and a blowing agent, uniformly dispersing an inert gas in the liquid composition by mechanical agitation to form a bubbled composition, shaping the bubbled composition into a sheet shape, and heat curing the bubbled shape at a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the blowing agent. The sealing material is lightweight and has a high blowing magnification. On use, the sealing material is disposed in a cavity of an automotive pillar or similar member and heated for foaming to fill the cavity with the foamed product.

SOLUTION: A polyol containing a metallic salt of an organic acid having hydrophilicity and/or its polymer is used in 20-100wt.% of the polyol and the resultant polyurethane foam is compressed to 5-80% of the original thickness when expanding a composition consisting essentially of the polyol, an isocyanate and water, and producing a flexible polyurethane foam.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain low hardness, and reduce contamination to paper sheets by setting tackiness in a surface of a paper feeding member using thermoplastic elastomer to a specific value. SOLUTION: A paper feeding member is used for at least one or more of a pickup roller 2, a feed roller 3 and a reverse roller 4, and an elastic layer 5 is formed of thermoplastic elastomer. When tackiness in a surface of the thermoplastic elastomer is set not more than 30g, preferably, not more than 20g, contamination to paper sheets 1 can be reduced while maintaining a constant friction coefficient. The thermoplastic elastomer is composed mainly of a high polymer organic material and a softening agent, and for example, a thermoplastic high polymer material having number average molecular weight not less than 20,000 is used as the high polymer organic material, and a low molecular weight material having number average molecular weight less than 20,000 is used as the softening agent. A blending amount of the softening agent is adjusted, and JIS-A hardness is set not more than 60 deg.. Therefore, low hardness is attained, and contamination to the paper sheets 1 such as paper, a film or photographic printing paper can be reduced.
