Abstract: PURPOSE:To clean a member easily in a short time and to facilitate the automatization of the cleaning method by applying a printing ink varying in adhesion by electrical conduction to an absorbing material containing a component common to that of the ink to remove the ink off from the surface of the member. CONSTITUTION:In the condition that a cleaning roll 15 is not in contact with a second intermediate roll 7, the same ink as a printing ink is supplied between the both rolls to form a cleaning adsorbing material layer 17 on the second cleaning roll 15. Next, the second intermediate roll 7 is separated from a plate roll 9, and the cleaning adsorbing material layer 17 is brought into contact with the surface of the second intermediate roll 7. Thereafter, in the condition that the plate roll 9 is not in contact with the second intermediate roll 7, the polarity of the voltage of a first intermediate roll 5 is made reverse to that of an ink holding roll 1; the first intermediate roll 5, the second intermediate roll 7, and the ink holding roll 1 are rotated, and the printing ink remaining on the second intermediate roll 7 is applied and transferred to the adsorbing material layer 17. Simultaneously, the printing ink on the first intermediate roll 5 is applied to an ink layer 2 on the ink holding roll 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a color image having high image quality by a method wherein transferred ink is reversely re-transferred to an ink transfer means by making it possible to apply electric energy to the ink pattern on a second intermediate transfer roll from a temporary fixing means. CONSTITUTION:A temporary fixing means 10 composed of a cylindrical member is arranged on a second intermediate transfer roll 7 so as to provide a definite gap from the surface of said roll 7 and the surface thereof is composed of a conductive material and said means 10 is constituted so as to be capable of supplying a current through the flowable ink 1 between the means 10 and the second intermediate transfer roll 7. The ink pattern 21 transferred to the first intermediate transfer roll 5 is again transferred to the second intermediate transfer roll 7 provided in a rotatable manner in the direction shown by an arrow (c) in the state brought into contact with the roll 5 under pressure and stickiness is removed from the surface of the transferred ink pattern 22 by electric energy having polarity opposite to that at the time of the formation of an image applied between the temporary fixing roll 10 and the intermediate transfer roll 7. Subsequently, the ink pattern 22 is rotated in the direction shown by the arrow (c) and again transferred to the first ink image transfer position where the roll 5 and the roll 7 are brought into contact with each other.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance image quality by imparting pH change to the recording image transferred to a medium to be recorded to fix the recording image. CONSTITUTION:The ink pattern 21 transferred to an intermediate transfer roll 6 is transferred to a medium 8 to be recorded to form a transfer recording image 22. This transfer recording image 22 receives a pH changing liquid from a fixing means 15 composed of a pH changing liquid coating means arranged on the downstream side of the medium 8 to be recorded in the transfer direction thereof from an ink image transfer position. By this constitution, the ink 2 constituting the recording image 22 is gelled to fix the transfer recording image 22 to the medium 8 to be recorded. Said pH changing liquid coating means 15 imparts an electron pair acceptor or doner to the recording image 22. As an addition method, there are roll coating, spray coating, dipping or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent color shift through the construction in which fluid ink imparted stickness by being selectively impressed energy corresponding to an image signal by means of an energy impressing means via an intermediate transfer medium at the same contact position is transferred to the intermediate transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium support body 1 is caused to rotate in the direction P so as to transfer a recording medium 2. An intermediate recording medium 3 is caused to rotate in the direction Q which is opposite to the rotating direction of the recording medium support body 1 with its transfer surface being brought into contact with the recording medium 2 at a relative speed of zero. Similar independent ink units, for instance, A-D, transfer several kinds of fluid inks 4a-4d. These ink units are disposed at positions separated from each other at an angle of 90 deg. and are adapted to intermittently move in a predetermined direction P by 90 deg. at a time. In addition, the respective ink units are adapted to be brought into contact with the intermediate transfer medium 3 at the same position so as to transfer an ink image, and are then released therefrom. A light source 8 selectively impresses energy with respect to the ink 4a-4d via the intermediate transfer medium so as to form an image. The ink 4a-4d on the intermediate transfer medium 3 is accurately transferred to coinciding positions on the recording medium 2 in order, the color shift being thus prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To bring a recording material into contact with an ink layer on an ink roller without distorting the ink layer and obtain an accurate recorded image free of distortion, by disposing a support roller for supporting a transferring means at a position outside a transferring region. CONSTITUTION:Transfer feeding rollers 8 and 9 are disposed on both sides of a transferring region 7 in which a recording material 4 makes contact with an ink layer 2 on an ink roller 1. The recording material 4 is provided with a sufficient contact stroke in the transferring region 7 by the transfer feeding rollers 8 and 9 cooperating with sheet feeding, so that a transfer roller is not required, and the ink layer 2 is not distorted in the transferring region 7. In the case of color recording, a loop form feeding belt 40 to be brought into contact with ink rollers 11, 12 and 13 disposed in parallel, with respective ink rollers therebetween, is stretched between a driving roller 41 and a driven roller 42, and support rollers 81, 82, 83 and 84 for supporting the feeding roller 40 are disposed on both sides of individual transferring regions 71, 72 and 73. The ink layers make contact with the belt 40 over sufficiently long strokes in the transferring regions 71, 72 and 73, so that the ink layers are not distorted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To leave the quantity of misregistration within an allowable value and to obtain a favorable image by providing plural rollers which make a moving means run by rolling, and setting at least one of the rollers as a crown roller whose diameter of the center part in a transverse direction is large. CONSTITUTION:The moving means for carrying transferred substances 6a and 6b is arranged in order to abut on the outer circumferential surfaces of the sensitive body drums 3C, 3M and 3Y of respective image forming means I-III. The moving means has a carrier belt 5 which is rolled by the rollers 7 and 8 to be driven in the direction of an arrow 9 and it bears the transferred substances to carry to the image forming means. And one of the rollers 7 and 8, a driving roller 7, is set as the crown roller and its diameter of the center part in the lateral direction of roller is made larger than the diameters of both end parts. Then, the misregistration in the horizontal direction of a color image can be prevented and that in a carrier direction can be also prevented in a simple way. Thus, the misregistration can be suppressed within the allowable value and the favorable image can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily identify a register mark from a register mark printing area by making the register mark printing area the chromatic color of white color system. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate transfer area 10A is provided in an intermediate transfer belt 10 which is spread between rollers 11 and 12 and moves in a B direction synchronously with the rotation of a sensitive drum 1 and also the resister mark printing areas 10B are provided on edge ends on both sides of the belt 10. The area 10B is colored in the achromatic color of white color system, for instance, by painting white paint. The register marks 13A, 13B and 13C are printed in the area 10B by the sensitive drum 1. The marks are simultaneously printed when an image for retransfer is formed in the area 10A. Since the printing area 10B, which is the background of the marks, is white, the register marks 13 can be clearly identified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To precisely form an image in the prescribed position of a prescribed member by detecting the position of the image on a moving member and correcting the position and the title of the image on an image carrier in a prescribed method based on a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The image 33 is formed on a belt 8 and register marks 34 and 35 are formed on both sides of the image 33, then the belt 8 proceeds in a direction shown with an arrow 11. The marks 34 and 35 are picked up in a timing when the marks 34 and 35 should originally pass through through two pickup elements based on a sequence signal. By detecting the quantity 36 of timing deviation which they should originally pass through and quickening (or delaying) a V-SYNC-C signal, the deviation of the image 33 is corrected. The Horizontal deviation of position is corrected by quickening a H-SYNC-C signal. If the center line of a drum 1c and an optical scanning line 32 incline, the inclination theta of the register marks 34 and 35 is detected and the scanning line 32 is rotated by 2theta in a direction shown with an arrow 23b. Namely, a pulse motor 22 is rotated and a shaft 22b is receded to execute correction.

CONSTITUTION:Sensitive drums 1Y, 1M and 1C for forming yellow, magenta and cyanegen images are driven in directions shown with arrows 5Y, 5M and 5C, united with worm wheels 2Y, 2M and 2C through worms 4Y, 4M and 4C. Optical boxes 6Y, 6M and 6C generate raster lines 7Y, 7M and 7C of laser light to expose the sensitive drums 1Y-1C. The images formed on the sensitive drums 1Y-1C in a Carlson process are sequentially superposed on an intermediate belt 8 to be transferred. Moreover, they are transferred to transfer paper 12 through rollers 10 and 13. The register marks 16a-16c and 17a-17c provided in the areas 8a and 8b consisting of a transparent film on the moving belt 8 are detected by two-dimensional pickup elements 14 and 15 through lenses 18 and 19 and the optical boxes 6Y-6C are controlled so as to be in correct postures with the detection signal.

A transfer material driving belt 8 is extended between those rollers 11 and 12, its tensile force of the belt 8 is adjusted by a driving roller 76 arranged blow it, and plural image formation units Pa-Pd are arranged above the belt 8 from the paper feeding mechanism side to the discharge slot side. Those units have the same structure and are provided with photosensitive drums 1a-1d, laser beam scanners 16a-16d, etc., as main components, and a moving speed detecting means 18 for the belt 8 is arranged below the belt 8 to control the running speed of the belt 8 according to the states of the units Pa-Pd.
