Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry magnet powder along a desired circulation path without requiring any rotary mechanism by arranging plural exciting coils along the internal surface of a nonmagnetic sleeve and feeding pulse-width modulating (PWM) currents phases of which are shifted by a proper quantity to those exciting coils. CONSTITUTION:A coil roll R which is fitted and fixed in a sleeve 2 is constitut ed by extending plural projection stripe parts 3a on the peripheral surface of a base roll 3, made of a magnetic body, axially at equal intervals and wind ing conductors 4a around the respective projection stripe parts 3a into coils 4. Then the (m) coils are fed with (m) kinds (m phases) of alternating currents (PWM current) by pulse-width modulation (PWM), phases of which are shifted by pi/m, in the arrangement order. Namely, two kinds (two) PWM current phases which of are pi/2 are fed to coils 4A and -4A in a group A and coils 4B and 4B in a group B respectively. Consequently, magnetic powder is conveyed with out providing any mechanical rotary mechanism.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a high-quality color image on plain paper with a simple structure by disposing plural image forming units, which selectively transfer toner according to a picture signal, around a cylindrical electrode serving as an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A fixed electric field Es lies between a screw pole 20a and the cylindrical electrode 1. When a positive pulse voltage is applied to a controlled electrode 18, an edge electric field E is formed in the pole 20a and the electrode 18, and the electric fields Es and E act on toner t1 above a slit part 18a, and the toner t1 removes from the carrying plane 18a and transfers onto the surface of the cylindrical electrode 1. The negatively electrified toner t1 stably attaches to the electrode 1. When a developing roll 20 rotates in the direction of an arrow (b), a linear electrode 20a1 is displaced parallel to the direction of an arrow (d). Consequently, the intersection between the electrode and the split part 18a forming dots shifts in the main scanning direction (d) together with the rotation of the roll 20, and a pulse voltage applied to the electrode 18 is controlled according to the picture signal, whereby an image corresponding to the picture signals input to the image forming units 12 to 15 can be formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform uniform printing with high density by applying a first voltage of a prescribed frequency to a control electrode and applying a second voltage of a higher frequency than the prescribed frequency per printing information to a segment electrode plural times. CONSTITUTION:A toner carrier 12 holding a toner layer on its surface carries toner T along a prescribed path. A common electrode body 8 is rotatably disposed on the opposite side to the toner carrying surface of the toner carrier 12 and a spiral electrode 9 is provided on its periphery. On the other hand, a signal electrode body 3 is oppositely disposed on the toner carrying surface of the toner carrier 12 and constituted of plural segment electrodes 3b1 and 3b2, while control electrodes 13a to 13c are provided inside of the toner carrier 12. The first voltage of the prescribed frequency is applied to the control electrodes 13a to 13c and the second voltage of higher frequency than the prescribed frequency per printing information is applied to the segment electrodes 3b1 and 3b2 plural times, so that the toner T on the toner carrier 12 can be transferred to recording material P fed between the toner carrier 12 and the signal electrode body 3. The uniform printing with high density can thus be performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus simple and inexpensive in a printing process. SOLUTION: A drum 4 consists of an infrared ray permeable glass material pipe 4b and a shape memory resin 4a having absorption within an infrared region. Data is sent to a laser unit 2 and the drum 4 is irradiated with laser from the laser unit 2. By this method, the temp. of the outer surface of the glass material pipe 4b and the shape memory resin 4a rises and the shape memory resin 4a forms a dome-shaped projection 4c on the peripheral surface of the drum 4 by thermal expansion. Since the heating temp. is set to the glass transition temp. of the shape memory resins 4a or less, the projection 4c is formed in such a state that residual stress is left in the projection and the projection 4c formed corresponding to printing data advances to an ink supply part R accompanied by the rotation of the drum 4 in a recording part A and ink is supplied herein to advance to an image transfer part D along with the rotation of the drum 4 to transfer an image to paper P.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device compact and reduce the cost thereof by carrying toner on a film to be recycled without using a heat-sensitive body, heating the toner by a thermal head and printing an image on a paper. SOLUTION: A thermal head 2 with a number of heating elements disposed in the paper surface vertical direction and a platen roller 3 are disposed face to face, and a paper P is overlapped on a toner carrying film 4 between the thermal head and the platen roller and carried. Toner representing the sharp melt properties is made to stick on the peripheral surface of the toner carrying film 4 by static power, and during the process, a heating element 2 to which power is applied is heated by applying the power selectively to the heating element formed on the thermal head 2 to melt the toner on the corresponding position on the toner carrying film 4 and transfer the toner onto the paper P. The transfer process is repeated to form a toner image in compliance with a printing information on the paper P.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a recording image having enhanced image density by forming a counter electrode of ethylene fluoride resin having specific coefficient of friction and specifying press contact force with a paper thereby eliminating deficiency of density. CONSTITUTION:When a paper having grammage of 64g/m and smoothness of 50sec is mounted on a counter electrode 6 made of ethylene fluoride resin having diameter of 20mm and the paper is pressed against the counter electrode 6 at pressing force W of 200g, carrying force F to be generated in the paper can be determined according to a formula mu=F/W which is set in the range of 1.0-2.0. During a process when toner on the counter electrode 6 is developed, developer (toner T, carrier C) moves on a fixed sleeve 15b and a recording electrode sheet 15c in the direction of arrow (e) as a magnet roll 15a rotates in the direction of arrow (c). When the developer reaches a recording section W, bias voltage is applied from a bias power supply 6' to the counter electrode 6 and the potential difference, between the bias voltage and the applying voltage of the recording electrode, attracts toner earing at the tip of the carrier C electrostatically to the counter electrode 6.

Thus, the inconvenience that particles of the magnetic toner (d) are clogged into the clearance of the recording electrodes is prevented.

The half-diameter r1 of the periphery of the developing sleeve on the upstream side region A of the bump G, is set larger than the half-diameter r2 of the periphery of the developing sleeve 15 on the downstream side region B. Then, the upstream side region A of the periphery of the developing sleeve 15 is covered with a recording electrode sheet 17 constituted by providing plural recording electrode lines in parallel.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to arrange wirings for connecting recording electrodes and record signal generating means with a density lower than a density of a parallel arrangement of the recording electrodes by arranging in parallel and in string form a plurality of recording electrodes on a narrow end part on a substrate whose widths at both end parts vary consisting of a flexible insulating material, and combining a plurality of flexible circuit boards on which the record signal generating means is mounted in a manner connectable with these recording electrodes electrically on a wide end part. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode sheet 17 is constituted by combining two split electrode sheets 17A and 17B. The split electrode sheets 17A and 17B are respectively constituted of flexible printed circuit boards whose both end parts are different in width. On narrow end parts of the split electrode sheets 17A and 17B, a number of recording electrodes 17a are arranged in parallel at a fine pitch corresponding to an image density to be obtained so as to form split electrode strings ERp respectively. Here, the recording electrode 17a consisting of a number of man-magnetic conductive materials a is patterned with etching processing in parallel on a flexible insulating film 17b, for example, at a pitch of 84.6mum by keeping an interval of 40mum.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a satisfactory image having a high degree of resolution and a high density by forming the entire peripheral surface of a recording electrode which extends at a recording position nearest to an opposed electrode, from a magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode EL is a double structure in which a recording electrode wire 17a made of nonmagnetic materials has an exposed peripheral surface that is coated thereover with a magnetic layer 17d made of magnetic conductive materials. In this arrangement in which the entire exposed peripheral surface of the recording electrode EL is coated with the magnetic layer 17d, substantially wall magnetic force lines generated at the outer surface of a developing sleeve 15 are converged to the recording electrode EL and are regulated so as to extend toward a cylindrical electrode 5. As a result, magnetic toner (d) forms chains along the converged magnetic force lines, and are bundled onto the recording electrode EL, that is, the toner chains which extends toward the cylindrical electrode 5 in order are formed. Thereby it is possible to stably form a recorded clear toner image having a high degree of resolution and a high density.
