Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the degradation in display quality. SOLUTION: A plurality of common electrodes 4 formed atop a film substrate 1 are divided to first common electrode groups 5 and second common electrode groups 6 which are adjacent to each other. Dummy drawing-around lines 11 are formed on the side atop the film substrate 1 formed with the first common electrode groups 5. These dummy drawing-around lines 11 are connected to a second common electrode 6d adjacent to the first common electrode groups 5 in the second common electrode groups 6. When, therefore, the surface of an alignment layer is subjected to a rubbing treatment in an arrow C direction, the static electricity generated by rubbing is eventually electrified to the first common electrode groups 5 and is simultaneously electrified via the dummy drawing-around lines 11 to the second common electrode 6d as well. The generation of an electric discharge between the first common electrode groups 5 and the second common electrode groups 6 adjacent thereto does not arise. The scorch and failure of the common electrodes 4 and alignment layers and the occurrence of an alignment defect are averted and the degradation in the display quality is prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to automatically inspect the wiring patterns of long-sized resin film substrates after a rubbing treatment without stopping a production line at the time of subjecting the long-sized resin film substrates to the rubbing treatment while transporting the film substrates from rolls to rolls. CONSTITUTION: The wiring patterns 13 consisting of display patterns 13a and drawing around wires 13c, etc., are formed on the resin film substrates 1. Two patterns 14 for output and patterns 15 for inspection connecting therebetween are formed thereon. The wire width of the patterns 15 for inspection are set at about the same wire width as the wire width of the drawing around wires 13c which are the min. wire width among the wiring patterns 13. An electrode roller is brought into contact with the two patterns 14 for output after the rubbing treatment and the resistance value of the patterns 15 for inspection is measured. The measured resistance value, if infinite, is indicative of the disconnection of the patterns 15 for inspection. The drawing around wires 13c of the same wire width are regarded to be disconnected therefrom.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a print layer only in a specified print layer formation region by providing a photoresist layer in a periphery of the print layer formation region, by forming a print layer in the print layer formation region by screen print and by peeling off the photoresist layer thereafter. CONSTITUTION:Pattern formation of a conductive layer 2 is carried out in an upper side of a substrate 1 consisting of resin, ceramic, etc. A photoresist layer 3 is provided all over a surface. Light such as ultraviolet ray is irradiated using a mask of a specified pattern corresponding to an opening part formation region 4, the photoresist layer 3 in a part corresponding to the opening part formation region 4 is exposed and development is performed thereafter. An insulating ink layer 5 is applied all over a surface excepting the photoresist layer 3 and a periphery thereof by carrying out screen print. It is intercepted at an edge face of the photoresist layer 3 and an entire of a surface excepting the photoresist layer is covered with the insulating ink layer 5. When the photoresist layer 3 is peeled off, an insulating layer 7 having an opening part 6 is formed in a part corresponding to the opening part formation region 4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the thickness of a wiring pattern thin and improve the bend property, fold resistance and bend resistance by forming a metal film by deposition or sputtering on one surface of an insulation film. CONSTITUTION:A metal film 5 is formed on an insulation film 2 by deposition or sputtering, and a plating layer 6 is formed on its surface. A resist layer 7 is pattern formed on the surface of the layer 6. The layer 6 and film 5 are etched using the layer 7 for a mask, and the resist 7 is removed to form a double structure wiring pattern 3 consisting of the plating layer 6 and metal film 5. A large number of such wiring patterns 3 are formed parallel along the length of the film 2, with both ends of each reaching both ends of the film 2. Anisotropic conductive adhesive agent 4, 4 is printed crossing the pattern 3 at both ends of the film 2 to obtain a film connector 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent relief and the like of a mask and a screen and so on in an after-process and perform the afterprocess excellently by making each burr developed in the case of forming a pinhole smooth or pushing its burr into the pinhole. CONSTITUTION:A pinhole 3 is formed in an insulating film 1 by penetration from an upper face to a lower face and a metal layer 6 is formed by laminating a metal thin film 4 and a plating layer 5 in serial order to both the surface and rear of the insulating film 1 and to the inner wall of the pinhole. After that, the burr 3a which develops at the extraction side of the pinhole is buried in the pinhole by a pair of upper and lower rollers 7 and 7 and it is so smooth that the lower face of the insulating film 1 becomes flat. When pattern formation is performed in the afterprocess, no relief of a screen and a mask due to the burrs 3 develops and close contact between the surface of the metal layer 6 and the above screen and mask takes place satisfactorily. An excellent after-process is performed without any hindrance in the after-process.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet printer head in which a barrier wall of two layer structure is formed easily with no positional shift such that no level difference is present in the inner wall of an ink pressurizing chamber. SOLUTION: A first negative type barrier wall member 32 is laid on the entire surface of a chip substrate 30 on which heating elements 31 are formed and subjected to mask exposure thus forming unexposed parts 32-2 at the pit parts surrounding the heating elements 31 from four ways and exposed parts 32-1 at other parts. A second negative type barrier wall member 33 is laid thereon prior to development and subjected similarly to mask exposure thus forming exposed parts 33-1 for making a barrier wall sectioning a seal wall and an ink channel and unexposed parts 33-2 serving as ink channels. Since the exposing width W3 of the first barrier wall member 32 is set narrower than the exposing width W4 of the second barrier wall member 33, not yet exposed part in the exposure projection region of the exposed part 33-1 of the second barrier wall member 33 is exposed to form a new exposed part 32-2-1 in the first barrier wall member 32. It is developed and unexposed parts 32-2, 33-2 are removed and then first and second barrier walls 34, 35 are formed collectively by self-alignment thus forming the inner wall face of an ink pressurizing chamber 36 having no level difference.

An eliminating part hole 28 is formed in an electrode connecting wiring part 21-1 in a part facing an opening (ink inlet opening) of a section part 32 formed by a sealing partition wall 31-2 and a section partition wall 31-3 surrounding the heat generating part 25 from three directions. A pressure accumulation partition wall 31-4 is provided by direct contact of a part or the entirety of an upright surface with a passive state film on the chip substrate 20 surface exposed in the eliminating part hole 28. Even if the electrode film is an inactive metal, the adhesion force of the pressure accumulation partition wall 31-4 to be contacted directly with the passive state film on the chip substrate 20 surface via the eliminating part hole 28 so that the risk of lacking or collapse in a curing step or another step can be eliminated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having back light equipped with a function for displaying the picture pattern of a character or the like in addition to a planar light emitting function for transmissive display. SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescence(EL) panel 3 is arranged at the back of a liquid crystal display panel 2. In the organic EL panel 3, mutually parallel plural front electrodes 18, an organic EL layer 19 and mutually parallel plural rear electrodes 20 in the direction of crossing the front electrodes 18 are successively formed on the rear surface of a transparent EL substrate 17. A transparent insulating film 21 is formed on the rear surface side of the rear electrodes 20, and a reflection plate 22 is formed on the rear surface of the transparent insulating film 21. Thus, the organic EL panel 3 can be made planarly emit light and all the pixels of the organic EL panel 3 are restrained from not emitting light so that reflection type display is enabled on the liquid crystal display panel 2. Additionally, the pixels of the organic EL panel 3 are selectively made emit light to that the arbitrary picture pattern can be displayed.
