Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent element which suppresses generation and growth of dark spots and has long service life for luminescence. SOLUTION: Anodes 2, a positive hole transporting layer 4, an electron transport layer 5 and a cathode 6 are formed on a transparent substrate 1, to form an eletroluminescent part. The whole electroluminescent part is covered with an organic protective film 7 and an inorganic protective film 8. A back substrate 9 is laminated opposite to the transparent substrate 1 via a sealing member 10 made of a UV setting resin, then the sealing member 10 is cured. Thereafter, a UV adhesive 11 is injected into a gap between both the substrates 9, 1 and is cured. The elctroluminescent element 12 formed in this manner can prevent infiltration of air by the organic protective film 7 and the inorganic protective film 8. In addition, the use of the sealing member 10 and the UV adhesive 11 made of the photosetting resin can suppress the generation of gas from them at curing, which also efficiently suppresses the deterioration of the electron transporting layer 5 and the back electrode 6, further suppresses generation and growth of dark spots.

A back substrate 9 is laminated opposite to the transparent substrate 1 via a UV adhesive made of a UV setting resin, and they are irradiated with ultraviolet rays to have the UV adhesive cured. Generation of gas can be suppressed because it is the photocuring, and the short-time curing prevents deterioration of the electron transporting layer 5 and the back electrode 6 caused by the uncured resin, thus generation and growth of dark spots can be suppressed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a thermal ink-jet head whereby an orifice can be surely worked and a heat generation characteristic of a heat-generating element is made constant. SOLUTION: A wafer is set in an etching apparatus 20. The wafer is etched while a resistance value of a heat-generating resistance body 5 between a common electrode 2 and one separate wiring electrode 4 is monitored by a control device 21. After an orifice penetrates an orifice plate in the lapse of time from a time point t0 when the etching is started to a time point t1, the etching is continued as it is to form a recess 5-1 and thin the heat-generating resistance body 5. When an initial resistance value Ωu (solid line (a)) of the heat-generating resistance body 5 starts to change (solid line (b)) and becomes a desired resistance value Ωa (time point t2), the control device 21 controls the etching apparatus 20 to terminate the etching. Accordingly, the orifice surely penetrates at one hand and the resistance value of the heat-generating resistance body is set constant at the other hand.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with a high pixel opening ratio that can improve the yield and can attain a high defisuition and a large image plane. SOLUTION: A rear electrode 19, n-type layer 20, p-type layer 21, n-type layer 22, electron transfer layer 23, luminous layer 24, hole transfer layer 25, which are formed along a whole display area in order, are laminated on a first glass substrate 14, and a stripe front electrode 26 is formed on the hole carrying layer 25. At the back of suck display part 12, a writing-in part 13 provided with a second organic EL element 18 corresponding to pixels each other is arranged. By using such simple structure, a yield can be largely improved. Also, as a bipolar transistor part 15 does not influence in a pixel area, a high pixel opening ratio can be provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the interference of light between pixels to obtain a clear image. SOLUTION: A transparent electrode 2 is formed on the surface of an organic light emitting layer 3 which excites and emits light by the bonding of electrons or positive holes on the inside by applying an electric field, a back plate 4 is formed on the back surface of the organic light emitting layer 3, and a micro- prism 6 which refracts light emitted in the organic light emitting layer 3 in the direction almost parallel to the normal line is arranged to form a micro- prism element 5. When an electric field is applied to between the transparent electrode 2 and the back plate 4 and the organic light emitting layer 3 emits light, light emitted in the organic light emitting layer 3 passes through the transparent electrode 2 as divergent light, and is incident in the micro-prism element 5, and the outgoing direction of light is restricted in the direction almost parallel to the normal line with the micro-prism of the micro-prism element 5, the refraction of light between adjacent pixels is prevented, and a clear image can be obtained.
