Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a humidity hardenable graft copolymer useful for one- component type coating material and sealing agents, which does not give a problem of toxicity or stimulation, shows excellent drying ability and does not damage film properties, and to provide a coating composition containing the copolymer. SOLUTION: The graft copolymer is the one (I) obtained by copolymerizing 1 to 30 wt.% of a cellulose ester derivative (a) obtained by ring-opening graft polymerization of a cyclic ester on a cellulose ester having a hydroxyl group with 70 to 99 wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer (b) (wherein the sum of (a) and (b) is 100 wt.%), and the introduction of an isocyanate group component to the graft copolymer is conducted by using an isocyanate group- containing unsaturated monomer (f) as a part of the polymerizable unsaturated monomer (b), the content of the isocyanate group being 0.5 to 28.5 wt.% of the graft copolymer (I).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulose derivative resin composition improved in flexibility, non-volatility, and bleed-out resistance by mixing a vinyl (co)polymer having amido bonds as side chains with a cellulose derivative. SOLUTION: An amido-containing vinyl monomer (1-100 mol%, particularly, 2-100 mol%) is (co)polymerized with, optionally, an arbitrary copolymerizable vinyl monomer in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator to obtain a plasticizer comprising a vinyl (co)polymer (except a polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyacryloylmorpholine, or an N-vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer) having amide bonds as side chains and having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000-500,000, particularly, 5,000-200,000. A cellulose derivative resin composition is obtained by kneading 2-98 wt.% above plasticizer and at least one cellulose derivative having a degree of acetylation of at least 52% and selected from among cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate propionate, and cellulose acetate butyrate.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method for effectively utilizing carbon monoxide dissolved in a reaction solution, conducting the same carbonylation reaction as a carbonylation reaction conducted in the reaction zone in that process and converting it into acetic acid. CONSTITUTION:This carbonylation reaction method is carried out by reacting carbon monoxide with one of methanol, methyl acetate and dimethyl ether or a mixture of two or more kinds of substances selected therefrom in the presence of a rhodium catalyst, methyl iodide and an iodide salt, continuously discharging the reaction solution from the reactor and introducing it into a flush zone to separate a vaporized fraction from an unevaporated fraction. In this carbonylation reaction method, an after-reactor of 7 to 60sec residence time is set between the reactor and the flush zone and carbon monoxide remaining in the reaction solution is reacted at 150 to 220 deg.C.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having an excellent performance particularly for repairing coating by having a composition composed of a specific ratio of an acrylic resin, a copolymer containing alkoxysilane groups and a cellulose ester derivative containing hydroxyl groups prepared by ring-opening graft polymerization of cyclic esters as a main component. SOLUTION: A main component is a composition composed of 30 to 75 wt.% of an acrylic resin, 20 to 5 wt.% of a copolymer containing alkoxysilane groups and 50 to 20 wt.% of a cellulose ester derivative containing hydroxyl groups prepared by ring-opening graft polymerization of cyclic esters. For the acrylic resin, those which have the glass transition temperature of 20 to 100 deg.C and the peak molecular weight of the weight average measured by GPC of 20,000 to 100,000 are particularly preferable. This point has excellent adherence particularly to the final coating formed by a thermosetting paint such as acrylic resins or aminoalkyd resins and the middle coating paint such as a surfacer and a sealer and also give a coating excellent in water resistance, weather resistance, gasoline resistance, rubbing resistance and the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder of which the odor is less, and also, wherein the crystalization of a coloring matter is hard to occur, and in addition, of which the solubility is favorable, and a coloring matter donor element using the binder by using a lactone modified cellulose ester wherein an cellulose ester is modified with lactone, in the binder for a sublimation type coloring matter. SOLUTION: A heat-transfer coloring matter binder is composed using a lactone modified cellulose ester. Then, the lactone modified cellulose ester is formed by modifying a cellulose ester with lactone. In this case, for the cellulose ester which is used as a dye, cellulose acetate or the like is adopted from viewpoints wherein the solubility with an organic solvent is favorable, the cost is low, and the acquisition is easy. Also, for the lactone which is used as the raw material, ε-caprolactone which is easy to acquire, is inexpensive, and in addition, of which the compatibility with the cellulose ester is excellent, is adopted. In addition, a coloring matter layer which forms the coloring matter donor element is formed of a coloring matter and a lactone modified cellulose ester based binder which disperses the coloring matter.
