Further disclosed is a tactile sensor array comprising a plurality of sensor elements according to any of the above claims, wherein the sensor elements are arranged in a row and column configuration for the determination of local pressure variations over the surface area of the sensor array, and wherein the plurality of sensor elements being integrally formed in a common elastomeric body member.
Abstract:
An infusion device for continously infusion of medication is disclosed, in which infusion is controlled over two separate fluid communications. The infusion is in each fluid communication controlled by restricting means and valve means, and one of the fluid communications further contains a holding device for bolus rate of infusion for a short period. The devide comprises a flow regulating device comprising a passage defined by at lesat a first element is a primary deformable element adapted to be elastically deformed so as to change the cross sectional area of the passage. Furthermore the device comprises a container for storage and supply of a medication in fluid form, said container comprising a first and a second chamber being arranged relatively to each other so that when volume of the first chamber increases the volume of the second chamber decreases.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to apparatus for delivering a controlled or restricted flow of liquid and limiting bubble fragmentation at the inlet. This is achieved in flow restrictor with a flow channel having over most of its length a substantially constant, minimum hydraulic diameter D = 4A/W wherein A is the minimum local cross-sectional area of the channel and W is the minimum local wetting perimeter of the channel, by smoothly widening the channel at its inlet such that: at distances z from the inlet face with 0
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to transducers for converting the spatial position of an object into an electrical signal, more specific to a novel position sensor which has advantages of simplicity, long-term stability and durability. According to the invention, a position sensor comprises at least one body of an elastomeric material, mounting means for mounting a first part of the body to a support, and movable means joined to a second part of the body at a distance from the first part, the movable means being movable to stretch a third part of the body located between the mounting means and the movable means. The sensor has opposed first and second surfaces on the third part, a first electrode on the first surface, and a second electrode on the second surface.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an elastic bandage for supporting a body extremity such as a leg. Such bandages are used to overcome problems with fluid retention and swelling in the legs, occurring as a consequence of varicose veins, vascular incompetence, pregnancy, etc. It is a task of this invention to supply an active support for a body extremity such as a leg, which can be used by a person underneath the clothes and will not reduce the mobility of the patient. This task is solved in that an elastic bandage comprises an elastic layer for surrounding a body extremity to exert compressive force on the extremity, the bandage being, at least partly, formed by elastomeric actuation elements, whereby electrical control of the compressive force is possible, and where the control is due to a signal from some sensing system.
Abstract:
This invention relates to control valves for controlling of fluid flow, where the flow-controlling element in the valve body is of an elastomeric material. The control valve has only one flow-controlling element, which element fulfils all functions of the valve, meaning non-return function, flow-restriction function and/or controlling function.

Abstract:
A micro-mixer (8) is disclosed having at least one mixing point (9, 10) which is connected to an inlet channel arrangement having at least two inlet channels (3, 4) and to an outlet channel arrangement, and a mixing method is disclosed for at least two fluids which are supplied from different directions. With this mixer and method it is intended to achieve a rapid and predeterminable mixing of the fluids. For that purpose, a separating element (5) which extends into a region of the mixing point in which the inlet channels run parallel to one another is provided. By this means the fluids can be kept separate from one another until their flow speeds virtually coincide in respect of value and direction. Only then are they brought into contact with one another.
