    Abstract: A control circuit (200) operable to generate a control signal (D) to control the duty cycle of a switched mode power supply (100). The control circuit (200) comprises a. reference signal generator (210) operable to receive a signal indicative of an input voltage (V) of the switched mode power supply (100) and generate a reference signal (V) that is a function of the input voltage (V) and an offset reference signal generator (220) operable to generate an offset reference signal (V) 'by combining the reference signal (V) with an offset signal (V) the offset signal (v) being independent of the input voltage (V) The control circuit (200) further comprises an error signal generator (230) arranged to receive a signal indicative of an output voltage (V) of the switched mode power supply (100) and operable to generate an error signal (V) based on the offset reference signal (V) and based on the output voltage (V). The control circuit (200) also includes a duty cycle control signal generator (250) operable to generate the control signal (D) to control the duty cycle of the switched mode power supply (100) in dependence upon the error signal (V)

    Abstract: By employing an intelligent search order, a user equipment in a mobile co mmunication system can shorten the time needed to find a cell/public land mo bile network. After a first cell has been found, the equipment can determine which frequencies it will be worthwhile to search when another search is ne eded for a second cell. The equipment can thus avoid wasting time searching for cells in frequencies of a radio access technology that may not be valid when cells can be found in a most recently used group of frequencies of anot her radio access technology.
