    Abstract: Water-soluble disazo dyestuffs of the formula which contain a 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6- or -4,6-disulfonic acid moiety as a bivalent coupling component and which contain diazo components with fibre-reactive groups characterized by the inclusion of one or two chloro-triazinyl groups and one or two of the six groups defined by the substituent Z, namely, CH2SO2CH2CH2OSO3H; SO2CHCH2; +TR each of which are connected to the benzene moiety of the diazo component; the chloro-triazinyl group is further substituted by a substituted or unsubstituted phenylamino or substituted or unsubstituted naphthylamino group, a substitutent of which may be one of the six groups defined by the Z substituent; if there is only one chloro-triazinyl group in the compound, then the diazo component is also substituted by one of the Z substituents; these compounds are dyestuffs which exhibit a good fixation degree of the dyestuffs in fabrics.

    Abstract: 1. A process for the preparation of disazo compounds of the general formula (1) see diagramm : EP0063276,P12,F4 in which R**1 denotes a hydrogen atom, a chlorine or bromine atom or a sulfo group, R**2 is a hydrogen atom or a chlorine or bromine atom, R**3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 C-atoms or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 C-atoms and R**4 denotes an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 C-atoms and Z**1 and Z**2 are each bonded in the benzene nucleus in the meta- or para-position relative to the azo group and each represents a hydrogen atom, the beta-thiosulfatoethylsulfonyl group, the vinylsulfonyl group or the beta-sulfatoethylsulfonyl group, and Z**1 and Z**2 can be identical to or different from one another, but with the proviso that they do not both represent a hydrogen atom at the same time, and M represents a hydrogen atom or the equivalent of a metal, and the formula moieties R**1 , R**2 , R**3 , R**4 and M are identical to or different from one another and also identical to or different from Z**1 and Z**2 , characterized by that a mixture of two diazotized aromatic amines of the general formulae (2) and (3) see diagramm : EP0063276,P12,F5 see diagramm : EP0063276,P12,F6 in which R**1 , R**2 , R**3 , R**4 , Z**1 and Z**2 have the abovementioned meanings, are reacted with a coupling component of the general formula (4) see diagramm : EP0063276,P12,F7 in which M has the abovementioned meaning, first in a strongly acid range and then in a weakly acid to weakly alkaline range.

    Abstract: Water-soluble coloured compounds containing one or two fibre-reactive groups of the general formula in bound form; in this formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 C atoms; R denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 C atoms; A denotes the phenylene radical or a naphthylene radical, each of which can be substituted by one or two substituents from the group consisting of chlorine, bromine, alkyl of 1 to 4 C atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 4 C atoms, hydroxyl, carboxyl and sulpho; M denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal atom or the equivalent of an alkaline earth metal atom. These novel water-soluble coloured compounds have very good fibre-reactive dye properties and produce, by the dyeing and printing processes customary in industry for fibre-reactive dyes, dyeings and prints of high colour strength and good to very good fastness properties on, for example, cellulose fibre materials; they can be prepared analogously to known procedures, for example by reaction of an amino-containing coloured compound with cyanuric fluoride and an aniline or naphthylamine compound containing a beta -thiosulphatoethylsulphonyl group.

    Abstract: Improved process for the sulfatation of the hydroxy group of a beta -hydroxy-ethylsulfonyl group present in compounds selected from the dyestuff class which comprises carrying out the reaction in a machine operating with a kneading action and effect and with the use of only 1 to 5 times the equimolar amount of a concentrated sulfuric acid, of oleum or sulfur dioxide itself. The beta -sulfatoethylsulfonyl group containing dyestuffs, thus prepared have a high purity and are obtained in a high yield and esterification rate. Above all, the novel process is distinguished by a highly reduced salt and acid content of the waste water.
