Abstract: Provided is a method, system, and program for providing user location information for a personal information management program. A plurality of records for a user of a wireless device each include at least one position coordinate and an associated time indicating a location of the wireless device at the time and the position coordinate. Records for transmitting devices each include at least one position coordinate and an associated location description providing information on the position coordinate in the records. The location description from at least one of the transmitting device records is added to at least one record associated with the user of the wireless unit.

Abstract: A system, method and program of the invention enables a user to view, at a later time, transitory messages, e.g., advertisements, that the user may have previously missed. The multimedia objects containing the messages are stored automatically without user action when the multimedia object is rendered at the client. In response to a user action, a list of th e stored multimedia objects are displayed to the user along with selectable controls for rewinding and replaying the list of stored multimedia objects. The user may select each multimedia object from the list one at a time for replaying, or the user can use the selectable controls to replay or rewind a succession of the stored multimedia objects. The multimedia objects may include an animated GIF multimedia object, a moving picture type multimedia object, a vector graphic multimedia object, a nd a static image multimedia object.

Abstract: A customizable touchscreen keyboard, and method, system, and computer progr am product for customizing the touchscreen keyboard is provided. In one embodiment, a data processing system receives customization characteristics from a user through the touchscreen interface. The data processing system then creates a customized touchscreen keyboard layout based on the customization characteristics and presents the customized touchscreen keyboard layout to a user. For example, the user may customize the keyboard such that the letters are presented in a U-shape with the letters arranged in alphabetical order, thus aiding a user in finding a desired letter. The user may later recustomize the keyboard if desired. Furthermore, the data processing system may reconfigure the keyboard based on past usage by the user.

Abstract: An electronic document delivery system includes a client machine 22 (e.g., a palmtop/handheld computer or wireless communication device) coupled to a transcoder proxy 28. The system allows a client machine with limited resources to provide interactive aspects of electronic documents such as Web pages and/or an assistive technology solution for a physically challenged user. The transcoder proxy 28 receives an electronic document 12 including one or more elements and expressed in a first digital format (e.g., HTML or XML). The transcoder proxy 28 assigns a unique identifier to each element, produces an "original" script including at least a portion of the document expressed in a second digital format (e.g., a scripting language), and provides the original script to the client machine 22. The transcoder proxy 28 may form a model of the document (e.g., a document object model or DOM), and may use the model to produce the original script. The client machine 22 uses the original script to display or otherwise present the portion of the document. The client machine generates an event in response to user input, associates the event with an element within the original script, and provides the event and the identifier assigned to the element to the transcoder proxy 28. The transcoder proxy 28 accesses the model using the identifier, uses the model to produce a "modification" script, and provides the modification script to the client machine 22. The client machine 22 uses the modification script to modify the displayed or otherwise presented portion of the document.

Abstract: A method, system, and program is provided for displaying icons on a data processing system. The number of icons to be displayed on the computer screen is determined. Th e boundary area for displaying the icons on the computer screen is calculated. The sizes of the icons are then scaled to a size that allows all icons to be displayed in the boundary area while utilizing all available display space. The minimum and maximum sizes of the icons can be limited based on us er preferences. If the icons cannot be scaled to fit within the boundary area using the user selected minimum size, then only a portion of the icon is displayed. In this manner, all icons are scale d and displayed at a size that utilizes the full boundary area of the display screen.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system, method, and program for displaying pages in a viewer program on a computer display monitor. The viewer program displays an application window. The viewer program downloads a first and second pages from one of multiple servers over a network and then automatically concurrently displays the first page in a first window pane and the second page in a second window pane in the application window according to predefined settings specifying how pages are to be displayed in the first and second panes. The viewer program then downloads a third page from one of multiple servers over the network and automatically concurrently displays the third page in one of the first and second panes and one of the first and second pages in the other pane according to the predefined settings. A fourth page is then downloaded from one of multiple servers over the network and the viewer program then automatically concurrently displays the third and fourth pages in the first and second panes according to the predefined settings.

If the server receives an access request integrating the goods code from a user(410), a client makes the request include a discriminator data token. The data token is a browser cookie or other information making the server system discriminates the user or an electric wallet used by the user. The server receives the token(415), and constructs a dealing model according to the goods code and the data token(420).

Abstract: A system, method and program of the invention enables a client in a network of computers to participate with a plurality of merchants across several Web servers in electronic transactions for the purchase of products from the merchants. The client is enabled to make one transaction with one merchant dependent upon the results of another transaction with another merchant. More specifically, each item that is available from any merchant and is selected by a customer using the client is represented at the client as a separate object having states associated therewith. A buy, hold, or conditional state will set a lock on the corresponding object at the Web server such that no other transactions with other customers can take place for that specific item while the current customer is actively using it. A conditional state sends a signal to the merchant to assist in contacting another merchant in order to cancel a previous transaction that the other merchant had with the current customer.
