Abstract: PURPOSE:To copy with the same density as that of a black transfer image and to form a blue transfer image having no copying density difference even if it exists with a black transfer image by specifying L* in a CIE 1976 (L*a*b*) of a blue transfer image to be obtained by a blue thermal transfer recording medium. CONSTITUTION:L* in a CIE 1976 (L*a*b*) color space of a blue transfer image to be obtained by a blue thermal transfer recording medium is restricted to 40 or less. Thus, a heat fusion-bonding colored ink layer on a base material is thermally transferred to a sheet to be transferred to form a transfer image having a color to be displayed by formulae I and II in the CIE 1976 (L*a*b*) color space, and L* of the formed transfer image is 40 or less. These values of the L*, a*, b* can be calculated by a method described in JIS Z 8729-1980 from tristimulus values by an X-Y-Z system. These values can be obtained from measurements by a color difference meter sold in the market. Thus, the same copy density as that of black is obtained.
