Abstract: A compound represented by the formula (1) : wherein Ar1 represents an arylene group; Ar2 and Ar3 independently represent an aryl group or an arylene group; R2 and R3, which may be identical or not, independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of 4 or less, or R2 and R3 both represent -SiR4R5R6 (R4, R5 and R6, which may be identical or not, independently represent an alkyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group which may be substituted); R1 represents -SiR7R8R9 (R7, R8 and R9, which may be identical or not, independently represent an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group which may be substituted, or none (only in the case where R2 and R3 represent -SiR4R5R6), one or two of R7, R8 and R9 represent the following : wherein Ar1, Ar2, Ar3, R2 and R3 have the same definitions as above), a method of its production and a photoreceotor for electrophotography incorporating it as a charge transport material. The photoreceptor is very excellent in sensitivity and durability.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance image density without deteriorating transfer efficiency by incorporating a specified stilbene compound in the surface layer of the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is provided on a conductive substrate 1 with a charge generating layer 2 formed on this, and as the, surface layer, the charge transfer layer 3 containing the stilbene compound represented by the formula in which A is cyano or nitro, and D is H, an alkyl, alkoxy, or-NR R : and each of R and R is, independently, an alkyl or each may form a ring together with the adjacent N atom, thus permitting electrostatic attractive force and van der Waals' force exerted between a toner and the photosensitive material to be raised by incorporating the stilbene compound in the surface layer of the photosensitive material and image density to be enhanced and it is preferred that these forces are smaller in a transfer section but they do not deteriorate the transfer performance.
