CONSTITUTION:An enhancer for effects of agricultural and horticultural insecticides comprising a compound shown by formula I [at least one of R1 and R2 is 8-30C straight-chain or branched chain alkyl, alkenyl, alkylarylpolyalkylene, alkylpolyoxypropylene, acylaminoalkyl or acryloxyalkyl and the rest is group shown by formula II to formula IV or (CH2CH2O)nH ((n) is 1-5); R3 is CH2 or CH2CH2; X is anionic residue of acid containing hydrophobic group having >=10 total carbons, anionic oligomer having >=3 degree of polymerization or acid anion of polymer] as an essential component. The enhancer is used with an agricultural and horticultural insecticide in a ratio of the enhancer: insecticide =0.05/1-20per/1 by weight to exhibit the above- mentioned effects.

The composition is stable even when stored for a long period of time, and exhibits remarkable antimicrobial and antiviral activities.
