    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition comprising a specific cationic sterilizing agent, a specific cationic conditioning agent, and a metal chelate, and having a sufficient conditioning effect and dandruff-resistant, itching resistant, odor- preventing and deodorizing effects. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (A) a cationic sterilizing agent of formula I or II [R is 8-16C linear or branched alkenyl, etc.; X is halogen, alkyl phosphate of formula III (one of R and R is 6-20C linear alkyl, alkenyl, and the other is H, CH3 , etc.)] (preferably benzalkonium chloride), (B) a cationic polymer or a quaternary ammonium salt type cation activator of formula IV (R is 8-28C linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl; R is H, C2 H5 , etc.; R , R are H, 1-3C alkyl, etc.; Y is halogen, R , R are 7-35C linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl), and (C) a metal chelating agent in an amount of >=0.5 times mole of the total mole number of the components A and B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the composition free from the loss of softening activity even in the presence of an anionic substance by compounding a cationic surfactant-type softener with a metal-chelating agent at more than a specific molar ratio based on the softener. CONSTITUTION:A softener composition, free from the loss of softening activity even in the presence of an anionic substance and capable of imparting a fiber product with excellent softness, is obtained by compounding a cationic surfactant, optionally a softener composed of a quaternary ammonium salt with a metal-chelating agent (preferably, e.g. ethylenediamine-tetraacetic acid and tripolyphosphoric acid salt) at the molar ratio of >=0.5 based on the softener. The composition can be compounded with an anionic substance. An example of the anionic substance is, e.g. a common higher fatty acid salt, higher alcohol sulfate ester salt or higher alcohol sulfonic acid salt.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a rinsing agent composition free from the lowering of cationic surfactant activity even in the coexistence of a material having an anionic charge and capable of sufficiently exhibiting the characteristic function. CONSTITUTION:A rinsing agent composition contains (A) a cationic surfactant, optionally a quaternary ammonium salt of formula I or II [at least one of R to R and at least one of R and R are alkyl or alkenyl which may be replaced with alkoxyl, alkenyloxy, alkanoylamino, alkenoylamino, alkanoyloxy or alkenoyloxy having the total carbon number of 8-28 and the rests are benzyl, 1-5C alkyl, l-5C hydroxyalkyl or (R O)mH (R is 2-3C alkylene; (m)=1-20)] and (B) >=0.5 time mole (based on the component A), especially 1-2 times mole of chelate, e.g. ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, citric acid or tripolyphosphoric acid. The compounding ratio of the component A is 0.5-20wt.%, preferably 1-10wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the composition not suffering from a decrease in the activity of the constituent cationic sterilizer even in the presence of a negatively charged substance and excelling in detergency by mixing a cationic sterilizer with a metal chelating agent and a nonionic surfactant and/or an amphoteric surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The composition comprises a cationic sterilizer (a), a metal chelating agent (b) in an amount 0.5 time by moles that of component (a) and a nonionic surfactant and/or an amphoteric surfactant (c). Component (a) is used in an amount of desirably 0.5-5wt.% based on the total composition, and component (c) is used in an amount of desirably 5-50wt.% based on the total composition. Desirable examples of component (b) used include ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, hydroxyethyethylenediaminetriacetic acid and citric acid. Desirable examples of component (c) used include alkylpolyglycoside and alkyldimethylamino fatty acid betaine.
