A method and apparatus for performing an attach/detach procedure or activating/deactivating a power saving mode (PSM) based on proximity with a device in a wireless communication system is provided. According to an embodient, a user equipment (UE) performs a detach procedure or activates a PSM, upon detecting proximity with another device. According to another embodiment, a UE performs an attach procedure or deactivates a PSM, upon detecting non-proximity with another device.

A method and apparatus for delaying transmission or reception on an unlicensed cell in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a backoff time from a first cell, and delays downlink (DL) reception or uplink (UL) transmission on a second cell during the backoff time. Alternatively, a method and apparatus for determining whether to perform transmission or reception on an unlicensed cell in a wireless communication system is provided. A UE receives an access probability factor from a first cell, and determines whether or not to perform DL reception or UL transmission on a second cell based on the access probability factor. The first cell is a first serving cell on a licensed carrier, and the second cell is a second serving cell on an unlicensed carrier.

A method and apparatus for receiving information for TV broadcast in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives first control information on a first frequency, and receives second control information on a second frequency. The first frequency may be a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long-term evolution (LTE) frequency, and the second frequency may be a TV broadcast frequency.

A method and apparatus for transmitting a secondary eNB (SeNB) release request message in a wireless communication system is provided. A master evolved NodeB (MeNB) of dual connectivity receives a message including a cause, which indicates that a user equipment (UE) has not successfully applied a secondary cell group (SCG) configuration, from the UE, and transmit the SeNB Release Request message including the cause to a SeNB.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing application specific access control in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives access control related system information from a network, identifies initiation of a specific application, and determines whether or not access attempt for the specific application is allowed, based on the received access control related system information. Accordingly, the UE may determine whether or not to skip access control barring (ACB) check for the specific application, or whether or not to skip random access backoff for the specific application.
Abstract:
A method for indicating usage of a multicast-broadcast single-frequency network (MBSFN) area in a wireless communication system is provided. A network indicates an identifier indicating usage of an MBSFN area via system information to a user equipment (UE). The UE determines whether to read a multicast control channel (MCCH) corresponding to the MBSFN area according to the received identifier.

A method and apparatus for prioritizing a device-to-device (D2D) transmission and a D2D reception in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE), which cannot perform the D2D transmission and the D2D reception at the same subframe simultaneously, detects both the D2D transmission and the D2D reception, which are scheduled at the same subframe, and determines whether to perform either the D2D transmission or the D2D reception at the same subframe.

A user equipment (UE) receives D2D specific barring parameters from a network, and checks whether access to a cell is allowed according to the received D2D specific barring parameters. The D2D specific barring parameters may include a D2D specific barring factor and a D2D specific barring time.

A method and apparatus for performing multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) minimization of drive test (MDT) in a wireless communication system is provided. Upon receiving a MBMS-MDT configuration from a network, a user equipment (UE) selects a subset of multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) areas among multiple MBSFN areas providing interested MBMS services, and performs MBMS-MDT only for the selected subset of MBSFN areas. The subset of MBSFN areas may be selected based on priorities of the multiple MBSFN areas.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for indicating change of a coverage enhancement (CE) mode in a wireless communication system is provided. A CE mode for coverage enhancement may be defined. A user equipment (UE) determines whether the CE mode changes. If it is determined that the CE mode changes, the UE detaches with a network, and re-attaches with the network based on the changed CE mode.
