Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a LGA package which can be small in height, and further, can minimize the inductance of a terminal. SOLUTION: In the socket for a land grid array package where a terminal 2 is set in a concave part of the box type housing in the state of a grid array corresponding to the land of the land grid array package, the terminal 2 can be extended and contracted to the direction of the thickness of the board. A bending spring piece part 3 is set so that its upper end engaging part 3b protrudes from the upper surface of the concave part of the housing when the terminal 2 is extended. Opposite to the side edge of this bending spring piece part 3, there is a side piece part 4 extendable to the direction of the thickness of the board of the housing. At the side edge of the bending spring piece part 3, a convex contacting part 6 is provided engaging with the opposing face of the side part 4.

A plurality of latitudinal shield plates 14 are provided in the plug connector crossing the longitudinal shield plates 27. Slits are provided for letting in the longitudinal shield plates in the housing of the plug connector and the latitudinal shield plates 14.
