Abstract: An apparatus and method for interference mitigation comprising determining if an unscheduled service transmission frequency is in a predefined frequency range; determining if an unscheduled service transmission power is less than a predefined power threshold; and performing one or both of the following: a) erase the baseband signal when an unscheduled service transmission is ON and stop the channel estimation process when the unscheduled service transmission is ON; b) initiate a smart channel information report.
