Abstract:
A base station includes a base unit and a plurality of remote antenna units (RAUs). Each of the RAUs includes a physical layer circuit (PHY). The PHYs are configured to each use the same physical layer identifier, but each PHY includes its own hardware for supporting users in the coverage area of that PHY. The base unit controls resource allocation for the RAUs to increase the capacity of the base station and/or reduce interference between PHYs.
Abstract:
Local IP access paging schemes facilitate paging of an access terminal when packets destined for the access terminal are received via local IP access. In some implementations, a local entity acquires information that enables local paging of the access terminal by sniffing messages passing through the local entity. In some implementations, a local entity sends a packet or message to cause the core network to page an access terminal when a local IP access packet destined for the access terminal arrives at the local entity.
Abstract:
Techniques for managing contention on a shared communication medium are disclosed. Various techniques are provided to facilitate aspects such as reference signaling, downlink medium access, uplink medium access, resource reuse, channel structures, acknowledgment schemes, fairness, acquisition, random access, paging, mobility, inter-operator mitigation, and so on for a frame structure implemented on the shared communication medium.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided that include classifying nearby devices as neighboring or non-neighboring devices. Devices can be classified based on detected registration attempts to a femto node, where the femto node can switch paging area identifiers to cause the registration attempts or otherwise, analyzing measurement reports received from the devices in a registration request, and/or the like. The femto node can mitigate interference to the devices based on the classification.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided that facilitate providing access point measurements to restricted access points. Restricted access points can lessen restrictions to allow devices to register with the restricted access point for providing measurements thereto. Additionally or alternatively, access point measurements can be provided to a minimization of drive tests (MDT) server for providing to the restricted access points. Thus, restricted access points can obtain the access point measurements for performing enhanced interference management or other functionality based at least in part on the measurements.
