SOLUTION: In the ink jet head where a plurality of ink channels which become pressure chambers 20 are formed to a piezoelectric material, there are provided a first electrode 21 for driving the piezoelectric material of an inner face of the pressure chamber, and second electrodes 22A-22C for leading the first electrode 21 out of the pressure chamber. The second electrode 22A is layered to a part of the first electrode 21 present inside the pressure chamber in the vicinity of a rear end face of the head.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the re-solidification of ink near the ink ejection ports and restrain the leakage of ink caused by the rise of ink chamber pressure by installing a heating device for heating ink adhered to the interior of an ink chamber and driving the heating device after the completion of printing so as to heat the interior of the ink chamber. SOLUTION: Solid or liquid ink 3 is housed in the interior of an ink chamber of a printing head 1, and then a first heating device 2a and a second heating device 2b are arranged each to heat and evaporate ink 3 and heat the interior wall surface of an ink chamber 1. Also, the first and second heating devices are temperature-controlled by a first heating control device 16a and a second heating control device 16b. The second heating device 2b can prevent gaseous ink from solidifying rapidly with the result that solid ink 3 never deposits into, e.g. a cobweb shape in the space within the ink chamber.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the size and shape of dots uniform by providing electric field shutter means for preventing the jet of ink at a portion of ink-jet ports of a jetting means leading to a back electrode disposed on the back surface side of a recording medium, and keeping a constant distance between the recording medium and the ink-jet ports with the aid of a guide means. SOLUTION: A heating unit 2 for heating and subliming ink 3 is disposed on the underface of an ink chamber in a printing head 1 and is controlled by a heating controller 16. A plurality of jet holes and a plurality of electrodes constituting electric field shutters 8 are provided at an upper part of the printing head 1. Further, a back electrode 11 is disposed in the opposite direction of the printing head 1 with a recording medium 12 therebetween, and a minus voltage is applied thereto from a power source 20. Furthermore, a guide member 7 capable of transferring the recording medium 12 after it passes through the upper part of the printing head is disposed in substantially parallel with the printing head. As a result, after a leading end of the recording medium has arrived at and contacted with the guide member 7, a direction in which the recording medium 12 is transferred is regulated, and the distance between the printing head and the recording medium is kept constant.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the clogging of an ink emitting orifice by eliminating the effect of the deterioration of an evaporation heater caused by residue by providing a printing head part having an electric field shutter guiding evaporated and charged ink to a back electrode to cut off the emission of ink and an ink cartridge supplying ink. SOLUTION: Powder ink is stored in a storage part 1 and an evaporation heater 9 is provided to the lower part of the storage part and a wire is provided to the upper half part of a printing head part 60 as a charge electrode 10 charging heated and evaporated ink. An emitting orifice 7 for emitting evaporated ink is provided to an emitting orifice substrate 12 and electric field shutter electrodes 11 controlling the emitting amt. of evaporated ink are provided to both surfaces of the emitting orifice substrate 12 so as to surround the periphery of the emitting orifice 7. The charge electrode 10 is provided at a position not coming into contact with the powder ink in the storage part 1 when an ink cartridge 50 is mounted. By this constitution, even if the residue caused by the evaporation of ink is bonded, it is unnecessary to perform repairing and the clogging of the emitting orifice can be suppressed.

By changing over the delivery signal from ON to OFF, the Vibrator 1 displaces in a vibrating direction (b) to return to a former state. At this time, the ink drop 4 on the tip end of the nozzle is sprung out by the vibrator 1 to adhere to a surface to be recorded.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an efficient charging of ink by a method wherein a charging device of ink consists of charging electrode parts connected to a high tension power source and counter electrode parts, which are provided on the upper wall surface of an ink chamber and connected to a grounding potential. SOLUTION: Solid or liquid ink 3 is housed in the ink chamber of a head 1 and further a heating device 2a for heating and evaporating the ink 3 is arranged in the ink chamber. The temperature of the heating device 2a is controlled by a heating controlling device 16 at a certain temperature higher than the evaporation temperature of the ink. A charging device consists of charging electrode parts 4a connected to a high tension powder source 4c and counter electrode parts 4b, which are formed on the inner wall surface of the ink chamber and are connected to the grounding potential. The counter electrodes 4b for developing an charging action are formed over the almost whole inner wall surface of an ink tank chamber. In addition, since no ink, the amount of which decreases through the usage for printing, is interposed between the electrodes 4a and 4b, the discharge state at every time of the printing action is constant.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the jetting direction of an electrically charged ink and its dropping spot on a recording medium from being disturbed by providing a static eliminating means for removing an electric charge off the print face of a recording medium between the transport means of the recording medium and a printing head. SOLUTION: A static eliminator 24 is arranged in such a manner that the static eliminator 24 comes into c tact with the print face of a recording medium, between a transport device 22 and a printing head 1. The width, i.e., the length in the X axial direction, of the static eliminator 24 is almost the same as the width of the recording medium 12. The device 24 is formed of an electroconductive member, and is grounded. Consequently, the recording medium 12 is transported by the transport device 22 and comes into contact with the static eliminator 24 before reaching the printing head 1. In this case, the device 24 is grounded, so that an electric charge on the recording medium 12 passes through the device 24 and a grounding wire and is removed, if the recording medium 12 is electrically charged. As a result, the recording medium 12 is electrically neutralized and the jetting of an electrically charged ink is not disturbed when the recording medium 12 is transported to the surface of the printing head 1.
