Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell having a high energy density and exerting an excellent cyclic property in a variety environments at use including a low-temperature environment.
SOLUTION: A non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell includes a negative electrode composed of either metal lithium or hardly graphitizable carbon material, a positive electrode, and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte formed by an electrolyte dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent. A vinylene carbonate is used as a high-permittivity solvent of the non-aqueous solvent. It is preferable that the nonaqueous solvent contains the vinylene carbonate at a rate of not less than 20 vol.% and not higher than 60 vol.% and the remaining is a cyclic ester.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which swelling can be suppressed even if it is stored under a high temperature environment.
SOLUTION: A wound electrode body 20 in which a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 are laminated and wound around via a separator 23 and an electrolyte 24 is housed in the interior of sheath members 30A, 30B of a film shape. The electrolyte 24 includes a retainer, and an electrolytic solution where an electrolyte salt is dissolved in a solvent. As the electrolyte salt, a light metal salt having an B-O bond or a P-O bond such as difluoro [oxalate-O,O'] lithium borate and tetrafluoro [oxalate-O,O'] lithium phosphate are used. Decomposition reaction of the solvent and generation of gas can be suppressed by formation of stable coatings even under high temperature environments.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte and a battery using it wherein battery characteristics such as battery capacity, cycle characteristic, and storage characteristic can be improved.
SOLUTION: This battery is provided with a wound electrode body 20 around which a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 are wound via a separator 23. An electrolytic solution containing a solvent and electrolyte salts is impregnated into the separator 23. As the electrolyte salts, a light metal salt having an M-X bond (wherein M expresses transition metal element or 3B group element, 4B group element or 5B group element in the short period periodic table, and X expresses oxygen or sulfur) such as difluoro [oxalate-O,O'] lithium borate, tetrafluoro [oxalate-O,O'] lithium phosphate is used. As an additive, carbonic acid ester of unsaturated compound such as vinylene carbonate or vinyl ethylene carbonate is used. While suppressing decomposition reaction of the light metal salt having the M-X bond to the necessary minimum, decomposition reaction of the solvent can be suppressed by formation of stable coatings.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell that improves chemical stability of an electrolyte and cell characteristics. SOLUTION: The cell comprises a wound electrode body 20 of which, a belt-shaped positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode are wound with a separator 23 laid between. The negative electrode 22 is made so as to precipitate lithium metal through the process of discharge, and the capacity of the negative electrode 22, is expressed by the sum of the capacity component depending on the adsorption/release of lithium and the capacity component of the precipitation/dissolution of metallic lithium. The separator 23 is impregnated with electrolyte liquid containing electrolyte salt. The electrolyte salt contains a first lithium salt; LiC(Ch Fh2h+1 SO2 )(Ci F2i+1 SO2 )(Cj F2j+1 SO2 ) and a second lithium salt; LiPF6 and the like. By the above, chemical stability of the electrolyte is improved, side reaction is restrained, and discharge cycle property is improved.

In the separator 23, an electrolytic solution in which an electrolyte salt is dissolved in a solvent is impregnated, and the solvent contains a substance having the OCON structure such as 3-methyl-2-oxazolidinone or methyl-N, N-dimethylcarbamate. Thereby, the chemical stability of the electrolyte is improved, side reaction is suppressed, and the charge and discharge cycle characteristics is improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of improving its characteristic by optimizing the relation between the thickness of a positive electrode mix layer and the thickness of a negative electrode mix layer. SOLUTION: A positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 of a band shape are wound via a separator 23 to form a wound electrode body. A lithium metal is deposited on the negative electrode 22 during a charge, and the capacity of the negative electrode 22 is expressed by the sum of a capacity component by the storage and release of lithium and a capacity component by the deposition and dissolution of the lithium metal. The ratio A/B between the thickness A(Ad1+Ad2) of the positive electrode mix layer 21b and the thickness B(Bd1+ Bd2) of the negative mix layer 22b is made 0.92 or above. The lithium metal can be stably deposited on the negative electrode 22, and a high energy density and a satisfactory cycle characteristic can be stably obtained.

SOLUTION: A compound represented by the formula is contained in a nonaqueous electrolyte by 0.01-1 vol.%. In the formula, R1-R4 represent the same or different alkyl group or aryl group. The compound represented by the formula contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte reacts with the nonaqueous electrolyte to form a surface-covering layer on the surface of the electrode before an electrode active material and the nonaqueous electrolyte cause oxidation reaction, and retards deterioration of the electrode caused by the reaction of the electrode itself and the nonaqueous electrolyte. A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is constituted by stacking a belt-shaped negative electrode and a belt- shaped positive electrode through a separator, spirally winding them to form a wound electrode, and housing the wound electrode into a nickel-plated steel battery can.
