Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for preventing image quality deterioration caused in compression/decompression of moving picture data so as to realize coding with an increased compression rate. SOLUTION: In a configuration wherein each of frames for configuring moving picture data is divided into blocks, interleave processing is executed for each block in at least either of spatial and time directions in accordance with an object moving amount in each block, and pack blocks including pixel data after the interleave processing are produced, the pack blocks with a relative position corresponding to the pixel position of an original image are generated. In the case of decompressing the image, the initial pack block wherein pixel positions are arranged in the order of frames is decompressed to decompress each frame pixel on the basis of the pack blocks with the pixel positions corresponding to the pixel positions of the original image. Through the configuration above, image data of the pack block become a smooth image close to the original image when carrying out coding processing such as the MPEG, and the coding processing at a higher compression rate is provided. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for preventing image quality deterioration when moving picture data are compressed/decompressed. SOLUTION: A moving picture conversion apparatus detects an object shift amount in blocks for configuring moving picture data, and executes a decimation processing in spatial direction, or an interleaving processing in time direction, or a composite decimation processing on the basis of the detected moving amount. In particular, in the case of executing the decimation processing in the time direction, the moving picture conversion apparatus receives a shift amount corresponding to a past frame detected on the basis of a block belonging to a one-preceding decimation processing unit frame of a processing object, determines a frame corresponding to the block to be left as data in the decimation processing in the time direction, and executes the decimation processing in the time direction for leaving block data corresponding to the determined frame on the basis of the shift amount corresponding to the past frame. Through the configuration above, it is possible to reduce the image quality deterioration wherein a mobile object not substantially present in a decompressed image is displayed, and to realize image compression/decompression with high image quality. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable allowing a frame rate into one that can be MPEG-processed while suppressing subjective deterioration in image quality. SOLUTION: An animation of high frame rate (e.g. 240 fps) which cannot be processed in MPEG is inputted into a dynamic image conversion processor 21. The processor 21 divides the inputted dynamic image into blocks, applies image conversion processing utilizing an ultra-resolution to each of the divided blocks, and converts the inputted dynamic image. A dynamic image conversion processor 11 supplies the blocks of a dynamic image of a frame rate (60 fps) which can be processed in MPEG to an output section 22. An output section 22 converts the frame rate of the dynamic image processed by the section 21 into 1/M (M being natural number) to form it into a frame rate which can be processed in MPEG, and supplies it to a coding section 12. For example, an input frame rate of 240 fps is made into 60 fps which can be finally subjected to MPEG, that means, the frame rate is reduced into 1/4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
