Abstract: PURPOSE:To directly cancel a DC offset from a tracking error signal without generating a tracking error at the time of seeking. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical disk 7 is not formed with a mirror part and is continuously formed with guide grooves 31. The patterns of these guide grooves 31 are formed to a triangular waveform and are displaced by one track pitch Tp in a radial direction from a normal position in an offset detection region WD. The max. amplitude widths on the positive side and negative side of the tracking error signal Et are obtd. in the detection region WD. A difference is generated in the max. amplitude width values on the positive side and negative side if there is the DC offset in the error signal Et. The DC offset is detected by reducing this difference to a half. The DC offset is thus canceled from the error signal Et. There is no need for forming the mirror part on the disk 7. The generation of a track loss signal is not generated and the track error is not generated at the time of seeking. High-speed seeking is possible with a magneto-optical disk device.

The board 46 is mounted directly on the chassis 32 through a drive shaft inserting unit 37 and a positioning pin 47. Thus, since a motor case can be eliminated, the size and weight, and the thickness of the entire motor can be reduced that much.

CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 21 of a recording and playback device is wound over the range of angle of 180 deg. or more on the rotating drum 10 through guides 51-54 from a reel 30, and reaches a reel 40 through being clipped with a capstan 70 and a pinch roller 80 via guides 55 and 56. Further, the recording and playback device consists of reel motors 31, 41, magnetic sensor 116, position amplifier 117, phase compensation circuit 118, and differential amplifier 42. Further, the output voltage of the magnetic sensor 116 is given to the differential amplifier 42 through the phase compensation circuit 118 from the amplifier 117. Next, the reference voltage from the power supply 43 is given to the differential amplifier 42, the difference of the both is delivered to the reel motor 41 to obtain constant elongation of spring, enabling constant force at all times.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To discriminate the start position of a information period exactly by examinating whether the positional signal separated from a digital signal is correct or not and counting the signal synchronizing with a synchronizing signal by the information of the positional signal whose correctness is proved. CONSTITUTION:Signals regenerated from magnetic tape 3 alternately by magnetic heads 2a and 2b are made continuous signals by switching circuit 17 and then regenerated data and regenerated synchronizing signal PSY are obtained by the data and synchronizing separator circuit 19. Regenerated data PD is supplied to data sampling circuit 20 and positional signal sampling circuit 21 and is separated. After examining whether the positional signal is correct or not, the status of procedure for counting the signal synchronizing with the sinchronizing signal is defined by the information of the positional signal whose correctness is proved. Thus, the timing when the signals synchronizing with the synchronous signals consisting of the previously stated number of signals are counted is defined as the start of an information period.
