Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the sound quality at the time of high-fidelity recording by an effect of damping vibrations by specifying the sp. gr. and shell material of the cassette half. CONSTITUTION:A styrene resin or ABS resin which is used as a base and to which inorg. matter is added to adjust the sp. gr. to 1.3 to 1.4 is used as the shell material of the video cassette half. The resin to be the base is, for example, styrene resins, such as GP-PS (general purpose polystyrene) and HI-PS (high-impact polystyrene), and ABS resin. The direct use of the conventional molds is enabled by using these resins as the base. On the other hand, barium is adequate as the inorg. matter to be added. Consequently, the periodic clamping half-life is drastically shortened as compared with the conventional cassette halves.

The thickness T of the above-mentioned cover body 14 is set equivalent to or thicker than the diameters of reference pin inserting hole 9, 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of a tone controller by a method wherein a plurality of receiving parts for receiving therein a tape cassette and a plurality of tone controllers separatelly are formed in tiers in a case in which the tape cassette having the tone controller freely attachable and detachable therefrom. The upper lid 52 is provided with a pocket part 52b in which the front face part of a tape cassette is receivable. A space defined by the upper lid 52 and the case body 51 is divided into a plurality of spaces S1-S3 arranged in tiers by a plurality of inner parts 53 and 54. The space S1 receives therein the tape cassette fitted with a tone controller and the spaces S2 and S3 receive therein the rest of tone controllers only. In this way the tape cassette and a plurality of tone controllers are received together in the case to prevent the loss of the tone controller and facilitate arrangement of the tape cassettes.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive reduction of a tape modulation noise by forming a leaf spring which holds a head pad arranged inside of a head inserting window for cassette, with a carbon fiber sheet. CONSTITUTION:The leaf spring 14 sticking and holding the head pad 13 is formed with the carbon fiber sheet 21 woven with the carbon fiber in almost orthogonal direction. As the result, vibrations transmitted to the leaf spring 14 from the sides of cassette halves 2, 3, etc., are negated by mutual interference, because the woven directions of carbon fiber 21 are almost orthogonally crossed each other, i.e., the vibrations are absorbed in the leaf spring 14, and the unrequired vibrations are not conveyed to the head pad 13. Thus, the magnetic tape 8 is stably run with sliding contact against the head without affecting the contact between the magnetic tape 8 and head, then the reduction of tape modulation noise is attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve modulation noise in maintaining a regulating effect on the rotation of a hub by protrusion parts by forming many minute protrusions on a liner sheet. CONSTITUTION:The liner sheet 15 is provided with many minute protrusions 16. These minute protrusions 16 are formed by embossing processing at prescribed intervals all over the surface except a protruded part 15a, and a square shape, for instance, is preferable for each individual protrusion shape. Consequently, even when vibration is given from the outside of the cassette, this vibration is absorbed by the minute protrusions 16, and hence the vibration is never transmitted to a magnetic tape, and also the liner sheet itself is hardly vibrated. By this method, since no vibratory effect is inflicted at the time of the tape traveling, the tape modulation noise can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the sliding property against a friction sheet and to obtain the stable tape traveling performance by utilizing impact resistant polystyrene added with a lubricant for a material of a hub. Thus, the hubs 6 and 7 formed by the HI-PS added with silicon as the lubricant have a low friction coefft. against the friction sheet 15, i.e. loss torque is suppressed to a min. because of good sliding property, and moreover because of silicon that is added into the HI-PS, it will never drop out even for long-term use, and hence the hubs 6 and 7 are smoothly rotated, thus obtaining the stable traveling performance.
