Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely prevent the slack of an ink ribbon between a ribbon bobbin for supply and a ribbon bobbin for winding at low cost. CONSTITUTION:The collar sections 4, 7 of each ribbon pin 3, 6 for supply and winding are supported to a pair of bearing sections 14a, 14b of a cassette body in a slipping-off preventive free manner while a pair of tooling holes 23a, 23b, into which a pair of locating pins fitted on the printer side are inserted, are formed to a side piece section 23, and a lock arm 30 is disposed at a position oppositely faced to the collar sections 4, 7 of each ribbon bobbin 3, 6 in the cassette body. The lock arm 30 has a pair of pawl sections 32 being freely engaged with or detached from engaging grooves 4a, 7a formed to the coller sections 4, 7 of each ribbon bobbin 3, 6 and locking each ribbon bobbin 3, 6 so that each ribbon bobbin 3, 6 cannot be turned in the direction that an ink ribbon 8 is slacked at the time of engagement and a pair of abutting sections 33 being pushed by a pair of the locating pins inserted from a pair of tooling holes 23a, 23b and releasing the states of the locking of each ribbon bobbin 3, 6.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make printing in an amount corresponding to the prescribed number of sheets continuously even if an upper limit sensor is actuated.
SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is configured so that a recording medium 10 is supplied to a printing head 1 in the apparatus body 9, whereon printing is performed by the printing head 1 in conformity to the print signal, and that a printed recording medium 15 is ejected to an eject tray 3, wherein the arrangement further includes the upper limit sensor 4 to output an upper limit sensing signal upon sensing the number of stacked sheets set a prescribed marginal number less than the maximum stacked number of printed recording media 15 stacked on the eject tray 3 and a control means 8 to input the upper limit sensing signal of the sensor 4, count the printing in the amount corresponding to the marginal number using the upper limit sensing signal as a trigger, and make the next printing not admissible when the counting attains the marginal number.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of discharging off-specification paper by identifying the length of printing paper in a color video printer. CONSTITUTION:A title printer is provided with a paper supply sensor 224 and a sensor 415 disposed forward of the paper supply sensor 224 in a printing paper feed direction. The leading edge of printing paper is detected by the paper supply sensor 224. The printing paper is further fed. When the leading edge is detected by the sensor 415, the length of the printing paper is equal to a distance 128mm between both the sensors. Herefrom, the printing paper is further fed. The length of the printing paper herefrom until the trailing edge of the printing paper is detected by the paper supply sensor 224 is added to the distance 128mm between the sensors. In this manner, the real length of the printing paper is calculated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the reuse of an ink ribbon, in a color video printer, by changing over the rotary direction of a printing paper feed motor when a printing head moves to a printing standby position after the completion of printing operation to perform the unwinding operation of the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:At the time of printing, at first, printing paper 202 is taken out by the rotation of a feeding roller 213 and fed into a passage M until its rear end is detected by a feeding sensor 224. Next, the reverse operation of a capstan 410 is performed by a stepping motor simultaneously with the taking-up operation of an ink ribbon 10 due to a motor to feed the printing paper 202 in the direction reverse to the feed direction and a head arm 312 is rotated leftward and printing is performed by the head 323 held to the state of contact with a platen 412 under pressure. After printing is completed, the head 323 is moved to the standby position separated from the platen 412 and, at the same time, a reel stand is rotated in a taking-up direction by the rotation of a pendulum gear to remove the slackening of the ink ribbon 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a great number of sheets of photographic printing paper to be supplemented by a method wherein a paper feed means which feeds the photographic printing paper to a platen is provided between the platen and a feed tray, and the paper feed means is used concurrently as a delivery means. CONSTITUTION:When a delivery tray is detached from between a pair of side plates, a delivery opening 6 joins a paper feed opening 5 to form a large opening part 4. A paper feed tray 20 is exposed, and a hand and photographic printing paper 9 can be inserted onto the paper feed tray 20 through the opening part 4. Thereby, a great number of sheets of photographic printing paper 9 can be supplemented to a photographic printing paper housing room 22 of the paper feed tray 20 while the paper feed tray 20 is equipped to an inside of a printer body 2 as it is. Further, when it is required to print photographically several sheets of different kind of the photographic printing paper (a postcard, OHP, etc.), they can be manually inserted. Further, since jamming treatment of the photographic printing paper in feeding paper and delivering paper can be simply carried out, the printer is excellent in service conditions.

CONSTITUTION:A counter gear 5 is provided to a spool 4 of an ink ribbon cassette 1, and after the ink ribbon cassette 1 is mounted to a printer, the counter gear 5 is turned at a specified angle by operation of a pulse motor 16 whenever one sheet of the ink ribbon 2 is used, and the amount of the ink ribbon used is recorded. By reading the position of turning of the counter gear 5 by means of mark detection with a detecting brush 17, the amount of the ink ribbon 2 used in the ink ribbon cassette 1 that is replaced in the middle of its use can be discerned.
