Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information on operation for forming an object in processes like the part of folding paper into various figures so that a user can easily understand it by providing 1st to 3rd screen parts which show one of forming processes for an object, a next process, and the final shape of the object. SOLUTION: A cursor with which the user points a specific position by using a mouse is displayed on a display image 14a. Then the 1st screen part G1 is a screen for displaying one process (process display result) of folding paper. The 2nd screen part G2 is a screen for displaying the next process (process display result) of folding the paper. The 3rd screen part G3, on the other hand, displays the final shape (P15) of the folded paper, i.e., the final shape of the target paper folding handicraft obtained after the folding. In this case, the 1st screen part G1 displays the original shape P1 of square folding paper and the 2nd screen part G2 shows the next process P2 to which the original shape P1 is advanced by one stage.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and cost by providing one sensor at the carriage side and a carriage origin dog for inverting the output of the sensor at the printer body side, and providing a sheet detecting dot for inverting the output of the sensor by the sheet supplied to te sheet feeding passage of the printer. SOLUTION: A transmission type photointerrupter 16 is mounted in a carriage, and an origin dot is mounted on a chassis to detect the origin position of the carriage, and the presence or absence of the sheet feed is detected by a sheet feeding sensor dot 15 counted at the chassis side. In this case, the positional relationship between the dot for the origin and the dot 15 for the sensor is disposed partly on a sheet feeding passage 17 since the presence or absence of the sheet P passing the passage 17 is necessary to be detected. The presence or absence of the origin and the sheet feeding can be detected by only one sensor thereby to reduce the size and cost of the printer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately indicate the usage of an ink ribbon under the condition that an ink ribbon cassette is changed in the midway of its use in a printer, in which the ink ribbon cassette is employed. CONSTITUTION:The ribbon code label 6 of an installed ink ribbon cassette is read with a ribbon code read sensor 7, in order to input ink ribbon identification information in a CPU 3. On the other hand, the unuse of the ink ribbon is detected with a head sensor 8. At the start of the use of the ink ribbon, the CPU 3 stores the number of printable sheets in the identification information as the number of residual sheets in a memory 4 together with the ink ribbon identification information. By comparing the ink ribbon identification information with the ink ribbon identification information of the ink ribbon cassette, which is installed in the midway of use, the memory of the number of residual sheets of the ink ribbon cassette is renewed to the coincided one and the indication of the number is performed continuously. Thus, the residual quantity of the ink ribbon cassette used at present can be exactly grasped at all times.
