    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to achieve a high speed and stable skew servo operation by detecting a tilted state of an optical axis of a laser beam from an optical head to a disk at intervals of every n rotations of a rotating disk-like recording medium and also at a timing when a rotated angle position of the disk-like recording medium takes a specific position, and executing skew control. SOLUTION: Skew control processing is executed at every predetermined interruption timing, and as variables to be used, there are a skew error signal total value, a count value of FG pulses, and an average value of skew error signals, and an upper and an lower limit values for which an appropriate skew error range is set are used. Ordinary processing is executed once a rotation, and the skew control is executed at a timing when a rotated angle position of the disk takes a specific position. In the case of a double-speed, the processing is executed every two rotations, for a quadruple speed, every four rotations, and for an octuple speed, every eight rotations, and even if the disk speed is increased, the skew operation is properly executed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To securely hold an objective lens by providing a groove enclosing an objective lens to the lens holding member and applying an adhesive thereto. CONSTITUTION:This optical pickup holds the objective lens 10 with the objective lens holding member 20. The member 20 is constituted by forming a rib 20a at its top end face so as to enclose the outer periphery of the lens 10 and forming a wall surface so as to enclose the ring 10. The groove opening on the upper side is formed by the outer periphery and wall surface of the lens 10 and the adhesive is applied to this groove. Since the groove opens to the upper side, the outflow of the adhesive is prevented even if a large amt. of the adhesive is applied. The lens 10 is thus securely held. The rib 20a is formed along the outside shape of the member 20, by which the coated amt. of the adhesive is increased. Since the member 20 is integrally formed, the constitution over the entire surface is simplified. The secure holding of the lens 10 is thus possible.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the jitter and level decrease of a regenerative signal caused by an optical axis dislocation by using a mask which extends the shape of the spot of laser beams which irradiates an optical disk in a direction orthogonal to the track scanning direction of the laser beams. CONSTITUTION:The laser beams from a laser light source 11 are made into parallel beams through a collimator lens 12, and then irradiates an optical disk 10 through a mask 13 and an objective lens 14, which extend the shape of the spot of the laser beams which irradiates the optical disk in the direction (radial direction) orthogonal to the track scanning direction (tangential direction) of the laser beams. In such a case, since sensitivity for a comas abrration in the radial direction of the optical disk can be made insensitive, and the beam part at the large spherical abrration in the peripheral part of the laser beams can be shaded, the jitter and level decrease of the regenerative signal caused by the optical axis dislocation at the time of a tracking servo control and random access can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A circular recess 13 punched by half is formed at a stator yoke 10 for forming a disc shape of a flat brushless motor. Eight N- and S-poles shown by broken lines in the drawing illustrate the magnetizing distribution of a magnet 9 opposed to the yoke 10. Around hole 20 is also formed at an interval of an angle theta1 with respect to the recess 13 at the yoke 10. The angle theta1 is provided in case of 8 poles, by theta1=45n+45/2(n=0, 1, 2...). Thus, a static cogging is newly generated by the hole 20, the cogging characteristic is different in phase at 180 deg. from the cogging characteristic by the recess 13, and the both cancel each other out to obtain normal torque characteristic.
