The colored beads 15A to 15C are respectively colored to any among three kinds of chromatic colors (cyan color, magenta color and yellow color) are respectively disposed to scatter on the surface of the mat layer 12 at such quantities at which these chromatic colors are mingled with each other and appear achromatic approximate to gray color when an observer observes the screen 10 from remote in such a manner that the white light is made incident as external light thereon. The projected light from a projector transmits the colored beads 15A to 15C and is reflected by the front surface of the mat layer 12.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an inorganic thin film on a base material formed of organic substance, with excellent adhesion by applying a voltage to the base material in plasma of ionized inorganic substance to form an ion implanted layer with inorganic ion implanted, on the surface of the base material. SOLUTION: Base material 2 formed of organic substance is fitted to a holder 5 in a vacuum container 3, and the interior of the vacuum container 3 is evacuated to create a high vacuum. Inorganic ion is generated by an ion generating device 6 and led into the vacuum container 3. In the state of the base material 2 being disposed in plasma containing inorganic ion, pulse-like voltage generated by a pulse power source 8 is applied as bias voltage to the base material 2. Bias voltage is adjusted, and inorganic ion in plasma is implanted in the base material 2 to form an ion implanted layer on the surface of the base material 2. Inorganic ion in plasma is then accumulated on the ion implanted layer to form an inorganic thin film with excellent adhesion. Oxygen and/or nitrogen may be led into plasma and implanted as an oxide and/or a nitride.

Moreover, in an optical integrated element integrating optical parts such as a light source, photo-detector on a common substrate, the liquid crystal element having liquid crystal between transparent transparent substrates 35a, 35b in which liquid crystal is aligned opposite to each other is arranged, and anisotropic deflected component made incident on the optical integrated element is decreased.

SOLUTION: An application beam L1 of an LED 3 is applied to a total reflection surface 12A of a right-angled prism 12 so that total reflection conditions are met. At this time, the finger tip of the specimen with a fingerprint to be detected is allowed to contact the outer side of the total reflection surface 12A. As a result, application light L20 being reflected on the total reflection surface 12A is emitted from an emission surface 12C and an image on the total reflection surface 12A is formed at a focal point of the detection part of a CCD 6. It is photoelectrically converted to an electrical signal S1 by the CCD 6, and an image- processing part 17 creates a binary image of a fingerprint according to the intensity distribution of the reflection light L20 based on the electrical signal S1. Further, a fingerprint that is detected by the binary image is compared with the specific fingerprint pattern that has already been registered. On the other hand, a set of transparent thin-film electrodes 13 are provided at the outer-surface side of the total reflection surface 12A and an organism detection device judges whether one that contacts it is part of an organism or not according to the change in permitivity.
