Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a resonator and filter with simple constitution, high productivity and a low cost and suitable for miniaturization. CONSTITUTION: This resonator and filter is provided with a dielectric block in which at least one non-through hole 12 is formed along a center axis in a longitudinal direction, a conductive film 14 with which the outer surface of the dielectric block and the whole surface of the wall of the non-through hole 12 are coated, and two electrodes 15 for input/output formed on the outside face of the dielectric block in accordance with the neighborhood of the bottom of the non-through hole 12 in a state in which it is insulated electrically from the conductive film 14.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To simplify a manufacture process and to considerably reduce manufacture cost. CONSTITUTION: A planar resonator 1 is provided with two dielectric plates superposed with an intermediate conductor film between, side conductor film 5 formed on one of the end faces of the dielectric plates orthogonal to the intermediate conductor film, and external conductor films 6 formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric plate parallel with the intermediate conductor film so as to be joined with the side conductor film 5. Then, an electrode 18 for input/output is formed on the upper or lower surface of the end part free from side conductor film 5, of the dielectric plate with a prescribed gap from the external conductor films 6. Besides, this dielectric filter is provided with planar resonators 1 more than two at least.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the waveguide type light modulating device and the method for the same, which enable the bias adjustment of output light intensity without impressing any bias voltage, concerning the waveguide type light modulating device for controlling guided light by using an optical waveguide formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Photoelastic effects occur at phase shift optical waveguides 3 and 4 by applying controlled stress to the waveguide type light modulating device, and an optical output from an output optical waveguide 5 can be arbitrarily adjusted. As that adjusting means and as a method for controlling the stress to be loaded to the waveguide type light modulating device, a member 13 for impressing stress is provided on the side face of an LN substrate 1 and a screw is pressed to the waveguide or the pressure of a package is utilized.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized dielectric filter, without deteriorating the characteristics of a dielectric resonator. SOLUTION: Two through-holes 11 are formed to a dielectric block 10, an entire side face 12 of the dielectric block, an inner face of the two through-holes 11 and one face of an outer circumferential face of the through-holes 11 are covered with an electrode 15. Two separate input output terminals 16 are formed to the electrode 15 which is the outer circumferential face of the dielectric block 10. The two through-holes 11 are regarded as inner conductors of two λ/4 coaxial resonators. Furthermore, the open hole face covered with the electrode 15 is regarded as a short-circuit end 13 of the resonator and an open hole face not covered with the electrode is regarded as an open end 14. The short-circuit end 13 and the open end 14 are of 2-stage configuration and the cross section of the through-holes 11 perpendicular to the axial direction are projected. The projected part is fitted to the opening of a printed circuit board for mounting the dielectric filter onto the printed circuit board.

One input-output electrode 4 is formed from the 1st side face 11 to the 2nd side face 12 and the other input output electrode 4 is formed from the 1st side face 11 to a position between the non-throughholes 2, and a slit 6 whose surrounding is covered by a conductor is formed from the 1st side face 11 to the position between the non-throughholes 2 while being extended from the short-circuit end face 14 toward its opposite end face 15.

SOLUTION: A dielectric block 10 is made up of a part A with a 1st length and having non-throughholes 11, 12 and a remaining part B with a 2nd length depending on the length in a direction of both end faces of the dielectric block 10 opposite to each other. In this case, the dielectric constant of the part B is selected to be more or less than the dielectric constant of the part A. Then the resonators consisting of the two non-throughholes 11, 12 exhibits the behavior of the mutual inductive coupling.
