    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve perforation properties and printing clearness in a low heat impression energy range, by a method wherein polyester constituted of an acid component such as aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and glycol component such as aliphatic glycol is used for a polyester component for heat-sensitive stencil printing paper. CONSTITUTION: This polyester composition is constituted of at least one kind of acid component selected out of aromatic dicarboxylic acid, aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid and at least one kind glycol component selected out of C2-10 aliphatic glycol and/or C6-16 alicyclic glycol and made to contain less than 0.01-30wt.% of polyoxyalkylene. Then the melting point is set as 100-270 deg.C. As for polyester, a matter which is constituted of at least one kind of an acid component selected out of terephthalic acid and at least one kind of the glycol components selected out of ethylene glycol is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a coating agent excellent in water solubility, adhesion, blocking resistance and solvent resistance by mixing aromatic and aliphatic dicarboxylic acids with an alkali metal salt of an esterifiable sulfonic acid, an aliphatic or alicyclic glycol and diethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:The copolyester comprises an acid component comprising at least 70mol% at least two aromatic dicarboxylic acids, 0.01-8mol% aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and 8-25mol% alkali metal salt of an esterifiable sulfonic acid and a glycol component comprising 80-99mol% 2-8 C aliphatic glycol and/or 6-16 C alicyclic glycol. This copolyester is useful as a coating agent for base films used in magnetic recording materials, photographic materials, packaging materials electrical insulation materials, general industrial materials, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyester which can give molded articles such as fibers, films and sheets improved in surface defects, transparency and antistatic properties by adding a specified metal sulfonate compound and a specified glycol- soluble metal compound to the reaction system in any arbitrary stage of the polyester production process. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing a polyester by reacting a carboxylic acid component or its esterifiable derivative with a glycol component, wherein 0.01-20.0wt.%, based on the obtained polyester, metal sulfonate compound of the formula: R-SO3Mm (wherein R is alkyl, alkylaryl or aryl; M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal; and m is 1 or 1/2) and 2.0-50mol%, based on the metal sulfonate compound, glycol-soluble metal compound containing at least one metal element selected from among an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, Mn, Zn and Co are added to the reaction system in any arbitrary stage of the polyester production process.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a white film excellent in whiteness, covering power and dulness, by adding specified amounts of CaCO3 of a specified particle diameter, inorganic particles of a specified particle diameter and a phosphorus compound to a specified polyester. CONSTITUTION:5-50wt.% CaCO3 of a mean particle diameter of 0.05-5mum, 0.01-10wt.% (not inclusive) inorganic particles (e.g., SiO2) other than CaCO3, of a mean particle diameter of 0.06-10mum, and 100-5,000ppm (in terms of P atoms) of a phosphorus compound (e.g., trimethyl phosphate) are added to a polyester comprising at least 80mol.%, based on the total repeating units, ethylene terephthalate. Thus a polyester composition which is freed of agglomerated particles, has a high whiteness, is less yellowish and cannot be obtained heretofore can be obtained. This composition can give a white film excellent in whiteness, covering power, and dulness and can be desirably used as a base for sensitive papers, X-ray-sensitive papers, cards, labels, display boards, white boards, decorative use, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester compsn. which gives a thermosensitive stencil paper excellent in punchability in a low-energy area and excellent also in dis tinctness of printing by compounding a polyester, a polyoxyalkylene glycol having a specified number average mol.wt., and particles having a specified average particle size. CONSTITUTION: This compsn. comprises a polyester, a polyoxyalkylene glycol having a number average mol.wt. of 200-5,000,000, and particles having an average particle size of 0.01-7.0μm. The content of the polyoxyalkylene glycol of 0.01-50wt.% is suitable. Any kind of particles, inorg. or org., may be used if the particle sizes are in the above-mentioned range, and the content of 0.01-10wt.% is pref. Thus obtd. compsn. gives a stencil paper excellent in punchability (sensitivity to punching and independence of punched holes) in a low energy area and also excellent in distinctness of printing (in character printing and solid printing).
