    Abstract: PURPOSE:A bundle of many continuous acrylic filaments are subjected to at least two-stage preoxidation differing in heating conditions in an oxidative atmosphere to produce the preoxidized bundle as a precursor of carbon fiber at a high speed in a short time. CONSTITUTION:A bundle of continuous acrylic filaments is subjected to the first- stage preoxidation at 200-260 deg.C under such conditions as preoxidation can be effected to give a bundle of 3-7% oxygen content. Then, the temperature is set to the level that is caliculated by the equation T is the preoxidation temperature in the second and following stages in deg.C; X is the heating minutes corresponding to the oxygen content in % after first-stage preoxidation, which is calculated from the relationship between the oxygen content in % of the preoxidized fiber at 240 deg.C, only changing heating minutes, and the heating minutes; a, b are factors decided by the total denier of the fiber bundle to be treated and the content of the copolymerizing components in the acrylonitrile copolymer forming the fiber bundle to complete the preoxidation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled staple fibers, having crimps in warm water only under restrained conditions, and a specific knot strength and shrinkage in boiling water, and improved pilling resistance, dimensional stability, luster, coloring property and feeling with the retained strength, bulkiness and spinning property. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic copolymer consisting of acrylonitrile essentially is dissolved in a solvent, e.g. dimethyl sulfoixe, and the resultant spinning solution is extruded through a spinneret into a coagulating bath, coagulated, drawn in hot water, washed, and heat-treated under tension in a continuous steam heat- treating apparatus, etc. The resultant yarn is then preheated and mechanically crimped, etc. to give the aimed fibers having crimps in bound parts 2 in which crimps given in dipping in hot water at about 80 deg.C, but no crimp in both ends under no restraint, a knot strength of 1.4-2.0g/d and a shrinkage in boiling water

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled fiber that is composed of musclelike island components containing anionic polyelectrolyte and of sea component of cationic, fiber-forming acrylic copolymer, thus having a high levels of electroconductivity, good color tone and high operability in fiber making. CONSTITUTION:Conjugate fiber in which polyalkylene glycol-containing polymer B is dispersed in a cationic fiber-forming acrylic copolymer A in musclelike form and an anionic polyelectrolyte C is included in the polyalkylene glycol-containig polymer B wherein the anionic polyelectrolyte is a copolymer containing a vinyl monomer bearing sulfonic acid group and its salt and at least one selected from acrylonitrile, styrene, methacrylonitrile, acrylic alkyl esters, methacrylic alkyl esters and vinyl acetate. The cationic fiber-forming acrylic copolymer A is a copolymer obtained from acrylonitrile and a cationic monomer such as N, N'-alkylaminoethyl acrylate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title general-purpose fibers capable of imparting the sufficient antistatic properties to ordinary synthetic and natural fibers in mixing therewith, by dispersing a polymer comprising polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol and a specific conductive polymer in an acrylonitrile polymer streakily. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol is dispersed streakly in (B) a fiber-forming acrylonitrile(AN)polymer. The polymer (A) contains (C) a high polymer electrolyte, e.g., a copolymer of a sulfonic acid group-containing monomer, AN, methacrylonitrile, an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate, or vinyl acetate to satisfy the electric conductivity and durability. The electrolyte is incorporated into the polymer in an amount to give the mixed polymer a specific resistance OMEGA.cm, whereby the specific resistance of the resulting fibers is -10 OMEGA.cm, at 20 deg.C 30% RH.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Title fiber that contains the core component of a composition from a polyether polymer and carbon black arranged in stripe forms, thus having electrically conducting property and the same level of fiber performance as usual fiber. CONSTITUTION:Sheath-core type conjugate fiber consisting of at least two kinds of fiber-forming thermoplastic reins wherein the core component is a composition consisting of a polyether polymer that contains (a) a thermoplastic resin as nylon 6 and polyalkylene glycol as the major structural units and (b) about 15-60 wt%, based on the polyether polymer, of carbon black and the polyether polymer is arranged in stripe forms along the fiber axis direction, drawn at a draw ratio of at least 2 and has a electroconductivity of 10 -10 ohm.cm. The resultant fiber has practically sufficient conductivity and fiber performance because of the high draw ratio.
