    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition for connectors excellent in injection moldability, heat and heat cycle resistances and flame retardance and using a nonhalogen-based flame retardant. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polybutylene terephthalate with (B) 1-200 pts.wt. of a polycarbonate and/or a polyethylene terephthalate, (C) 0.1-75 pts.wt. of a phenol resin and/or a phenoxy resin, (D) 0.1-50 pts.wt. of a red phosphorus having 0.1-1,000 μS/cm electroconductivity (with the proviso that the electroconductivity is obtained by adding 100 mL of pure water to 5 g of the red phosphorus, carrying out extraction treatment at 121 deg.C for 10 h, filtering the red phosphorus and measuring the electroconductivity of extracted water prepared by diluting the resultant filtrate to 250 mL), (E) 1-200 pts.wt. of a fibrous reinforcing material, (F) 0-100 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin, (G) 0-30 pts.wt. of an inorganic layer compound, (H) 0-10 pts.wt. of a fluorine-based resin, (I) 0-10 pts.wt. of a silicone-based compound, (J) 0-30 pts.wt. of a lubricant, (K) 0-30 pts.wt. of carbon black and (L) 0-10 pts.wt. of a hindered phenolic stabilizer and/or a phosphite-based stabilizer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mechanical characteristics, hydrolyzability, heat cycle resistance, moldability, etc., by blending a polybutylene terephthalate, reinforcing fibers, a polymer having rubber elasticity and an epoxy compound so as to provide a specified ratio of the weight-mean fiber length to the fiber diameter and a specified ratio of the weight-mean fiber length to the number-mean fiber length. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by blending a polybutylene terephthalate (A), reinforcing fibers (B), a polymer (C) having rubber elasticity, and an epoxy compound (D), wherein the component B has a ratio of weight- mean fiber length(Lw) to fiber diameter(d), (Lw/d), of (50 to 250):1 and a ratio of weight-mean fiber length(Lw) to number-mean fiber length(Ln), (Lw/Ln), of (1.1 to 3.5);1, the amounts of component A, component B and component C respectively blended are 40-98wt.%, 1-60wt.% and 1-50wt.% based on the total of these three components, and the amount of component D blended is at most 2.5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total of components A, B and C.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lightweight reinforced flame-retardant polyester resin composition good in mechanical characteristics, extremely small in the anisotropy of a molded product and little in warpage, and to obtain its molded product. SOLUTION: This reinforced polyester resin composition comprises (A) 100 of a thermoplastic polyester resin containing polybutylene terephthalate as an essential component, (B) 2-95 pts.wt. of a styrenic resin, (C) 0-30 pts.wt. of a polyolefin copolymer, (D) 2-60 pts.wt. of an organic bromine compound, (E) 0.2-30 pts.wt. of an antimony compound, (F) 0-5 pts.wt. of a fluororesin, (G) 2-170 pts.wt. of a fibrous inorganic filler having a fiber diameter of 2-50μm, and (H) 2-170 pts.wt. of a plate-like inorganic material having an average particle diameter of 300-3000μm. The component (G) is used in an amount of 0.25-4 times that of the component (H).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-shrinkable tube capable of covering and hermetically sealing various cover members and excellent in heat resistance and adhesive capacity by forming the heat-shrinkable tube so as to have a double-layer structure consisting of an outer layer composed of crosslinked polyethylene and an inner layer composed of a compsn. prepared by mixing a predetermined amt. of a polyamide copolymer with a carboxyl group-containing an ethylene copolymer. CONSTITUTION:As an outer layer material, crosslinkable polyethylene or crosslinkable silane grafted polyolefin is used. As an inner layer material, a compsn. prepared by compounding 1-50 pts.wt. of a polyamide copolymer with 100 pts.wt. of a carboxyl group-containing ethylene copolymer is used. As the carboxyl group-containing ethylene copolymer, an ethylene/butene-1 copolymer and/or an ethylene/propylene copolymer and an ethylene/methacrylic acid/acrylic ester copolymer all of which are modified with maleic anhydride are pref. A tube is molded using the outer and inner layer materials to be subjected to electron beam crosslinking, chemical crosslinking or water crosslinking to obtain a heat-shrinkable tube of which the outer layer is crosslinked.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an elastic polyester which is highly viscous and is improved in mechanical properties and heat stability by addition-polymerizing a crystalline aromatic polyester with a lactone compound in the presence of an organotin compound dissolved in a carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. carboxylic acid and 100 pts.wt. or below organotin compound are mixed and agitated for 30sec to 1hr to dissolve the organotin compound in the carboxylic acid. 99-20wt.% crystalline aromatic polyester is addition-polymerized with 1-80wt.% lactone compound at 210-280 deg.C for 1-30min in the presence of 0.001-0.5wt.% (in terms of Sn atoms) organotin-containing carboxylic acid and a phosphorus compound, and unpolymerized lactone compound monomer is removed from the mixture in a vacuum of 50Torr or below.
