Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the modulus of rigidity of liquid crystalline polyester fiber and eliminate its surface defect and further, reduce its oligomer quantity buy blending non-liquid crystalline polyester and liquid crystalline polyester with a specific wt.% of fluidization promoter which reduces a filtration pressure at least in a specific value during the passage of these polymer through filter. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a film by filtering a polymer after extruding it in a molten state from an extruder, the molten polymer is extruded from the extruder which blends non-liquid crystalline polyester and liquid crystalline polyester with one wt.% of addition of fluidization promoter which reduces a filter pressure by at least 10% to be filtered into a film, Further, the non liquid crystalline polyester and the liquid crystalline polyester are blended with the fluidization prompter which is a low molecular weight liquid crystalline polyester of the monopolymer or the copolymer type with a number average molecular weight of 1000-15000 to obtain the film. Thus it is possible to inhibit the shape relaxation of the liquid crystalline polyester fiber and consequently, enhance its modules in torsion and eliminate its surface defect, and further reduce it oligomer quantity.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the property of easily curling, the curl recovery, to improve the tear propagation resistance, and to provide a mechanical strength sufficient to reduce the film thickness and dimensional stability by using polyester film in which crystallization parameter, partial melting temperature and partial melting heat quantity at the temperature fall within predetermined ranges. CONSTITUTION: A polyester film contains polyester as a main ingredient. The polyester to be used here should have the properties that the value of crystallized parameter ΔTcg is 20 to 80 deg.C, the partial melting temperature Tp is 80 to 180 deg.C and the partial melting heat quantity at the melting temperature is 0.10 to 2.0cal/g. If the parameter ΔTcg is in a range out of 20 to 8O deg.C, winding trend curl, curl recovery are deteriorated, and a tear propagation resistance becomes small to be not preferable. The film to be used is polyethylene-2,6- naphthalene dicarboxylate, and other polyester is preferably laminated on at least one surface of the film.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyethylene 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate film excellent in thermal dimensional stability, scratching resistance and dubbing resistance, and useful as a roll-like photographic photosensitive material, etc., by using polyethylene naphthalenedicarboxylate as a main component and specifying the partial melting temperature of the film. CONSTITUTION:This film consists mainly of polyethylene 2,6- naphthalenedicarboxylate an has a partial melting temperature Tp of 80-180 deg.C. Colloidal silica particles having an average particle size of 0.03-1mum are preferably added to the film in an amount of 0.1-6wt.%. The film is preferably a biaxially stretched film having a heat of fusion of 0.05-0.8cal/g at the partial melting temperature. The film is obtained e.g. by melting and extruding the polymer into a sheet-like product with an extruder, casting the extruded product on a chromium-plated roll to cool and solidify the product, while applying an electrostatic charge, biaxially stretching the cast film, and subsequently thermally treating the stretched film in a heated medium such as water or trichloroethylene.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a polyester film low in oligomer, small in reduction of intrinsic viscosity when subjected to extrusion molding, little in the asperities of the surface and high in elastic property, and to provide a production method of a polyester film capable of largely reducing a filtrating pressure, shearing heat and extrusion torque without reforming any traditional film-producing apparatus by exceedingly reducing a melting viscosity of a polyester raw material with a high intrinsic viscosity when subjected to melting extrusion. SOLUTION: This polyester film comprises (A) a polyester and (B) a styrene- based polymer having an average molecular weight of 1,000 to 20,000. The film is obtained by melt-extruding the polymer A by an extruder 1 and then adding 0.05 to 10 wt.% of the styrene-based polymer B in advance of filtrating the polyester A with a filter 4, followed by conducting a film-forming.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject film having a high Young modulus and capable of manifesting excellent surface slipperiness, etc., by controlling the shape of dispersed domains at the film in the surface and central layers of a polymer in a non-liquid crystal polyester. SOLUTION: This film consists of (A) non-liquid crystal polyester and (B) a polymer melt processable and forming a phase separation structure in the component A. The aspect ratio L/D (=Qs) of an average major axis L to an average minor axis D of the dispersing domains of the component B at the surface part of at least one side is smaller than the L/D (=Qc) of the dispersing domains in the center layer part, and the ratio Qc/Qs of Qc to Qs is preferably 2-300. The film is obtained by carrying out a melting and extruding processing of a resin composition comprising the components A and B at a temperature higher than the starting temperature of the crystallization in a temperature- decreasing state and lower than the melting point of the component A, stretching the processed material so as to be 3-10 times magnification in the longitudinal direction and 3-10 times magnification in width direction, and carrying out heat set of the extended film at the temperature not lower than 150 deg.C and lower than the melting point of the component A.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to uniformly stretch and mold polyester film even if there are temperature variations during stretching or molding by setting the dependence of stretching tension upon temperature measured within a range of stretching temperatures from the glass transition temperature to the cold crystallization temperature of the film, at a specific value during the stretching of the film. SOLUTION: The dependence of stretching tension upon temperature when polyester film with a birefrigence of 0.02 or less and a crystallinity of less than 20%, preferably, less than 10% is stretched, is set at 0.15(MPa/ deg.C) or less, preferably 0.10(MPa/ deg.C) or less, further preferably, 0.05(MPa/ deg.C) or less. Thus it is possible to perform the uniform stretching and molding of the film. The dependence of stretching tension upon temperature is set at the value (MPa/ deg.C) of a gradient sought by the least square method when a film thickness of 250μm, a preheating time of 60sec., a stretching rate of 20000%/min. and tension (MPa) to be applied when the film is stretched 3.5 times as much in the stretching direction at the time of fixed width uniaxial orientation are plotted to each of stretching temperatures ( deg.C).
