    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a biaxially oriented polyimide film having excellent melt- formability and drawing property, exhibiting excellent mechanical properties such as Young's modulus, having little defects such as thickness unevenness of the film and high quality and useful for magnetic recording medium, electrical insulation or the like, by constituting the film with a resin containing a specific polyimide. SOLUTION: The objective film is composed of a resin containing >=70 wt.% of a polyimide containing a structure unit of the formula [X is a (substituted) aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like] and having a glass transition temperature of preferably 100-400 deg.C. The sum of the Young's moduli in longitudinal direction and lateral direction of the film is preferably 10-30 (GPa). The above polyimide can be produced by the dehydrative condensation of a tetracarboxylic acid and/or its acid anhydride comprising bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)sulfone with a (substituted)aliphatic primary diamine and/or a (substituted)aromatic primary diamine (e.g. 2-aminodiphenylpropane) or the like.

SOLUTION: The polyester film for a capacitor is a biaxially oriented polyester film consisting of polyester (A) containing wax compound 0.1 to 2.0 wt.% and surface roughness (Ra) of the film is 10 nm or more and 140 nm or less. The metallized film for a capacitor is formed by forming a metallic layer in at least one surface of the polyester film for a capacitor. The film capacitor is formed by using the metallized film for a capacitor.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare high quality biaxially oriented polyester film with improved mechanical properties such as Young's modulus and dimensional stability, which is excellent in traveling durability, shelf life and tracking resistance in floppy use as a magnetic recording medium and which is suitable for a thermal transfer ribbon or a capacitor, and to provide its preparation method. SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented polyester film comprises a polyester (A) and a polyether imide (B) and has a single glass transition temperature, wherein the diffraction peak of the crystal face in the main chain direction of the biaxially oriented polyester has a half-width in the range of 55-85 degrees in the circumference direction when the film is rotated about its normal line in crystal orientation analysis by diffractometry of wide angle X-ray diffraction.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To donate superb mechanical strength and dimensional stability and improve the durability to environmental changes by forming a laminated polyester film of two or more layers of a lamination structure and also forming at least one layer of a polyester and a polyimide which are composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units. SOLUTION: The laminated polyester film is formed of a two or more-layer lamination structure, at least one layer being formed of a polyester and a polyimide which are composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units. The layer formed of the polyester and the polyimide shows 90-150 deg.C extrapolated glass transition starting temperature and the content of the polyimide is 1-50 wt.%. Besides, the polyimide is added in the form of a polyester imide. In addition, the sum of the Young's modulii in the longitudinal and the width direction of the laminated polyester film is set to be 10-25 (GPa) and the coefficient of thermal shrinkage of the laminated polyester film in at least either of the longitudinal or the width direction at 100 deg.C for 30 min. is set to be 0.01-2.0%. Further, the thickness of the laminated polyester film is preferably 1,000 μm or less.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing polyester film which provides appropriate strength, dimensional stability under thermal deformation, and peeling property when a flexible printed circuit is worked/manufactured. SOLUTION: The reinforcing polyester film is used when working with a flexible printed circuit board, and comprises polyester (A) and polyimide (B). The thermal shrinkage coefficient is 0.25% or less when it is raised from 50 deg.C to 17 deg.C and then lowered to 50 deg.C. The thermal shrinkage coefficient at falling from 150 deg.C to 50 deg.C is 13×10 to 50×10 / deg.C.
