    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled fiber having specific tensile strength, toughness (product of tensile strength and square root of tensile elongation) and sulfur- content, exhibiting excellent heat-resistance, flame-resistance and alkali resistance, having comparable spinnability to conventional fiber for clothes and useful for firemen's uniform, etc. CONSTITUTION:An acrylonitrile polymer composed of 99.7mol% acrylonitrile and 0.3mol% itaconic acid, etc., is dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide to obtain a spinning dope. The dope is ejected through a spinneret into a coagulation bath composed of an aqueous solution of dimethyl sulfoxide to effect the wet- spinning. The obtained filament is drawn, sulfurized in sulfur dioxide at 280 deg.C and oxidized in air at 250 deg.C to obtain the objective flame-resistant fiber having a tensile strength of >=3.5g/d, toughness of >=10 (defined by the produce of tensile stress and square root of tensile elongation) and a sulfur content of >=5wt%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flame retardancy, a weatherability, and a high light transmission by a method wherein an antimony oxide, a titanium oxide, and a radical trapping agent are mixed with a vinyl chloride resin in the absence of a plasticizer, a vinyl chloride resin layer is obtained by adding and kneading a plasticizer in the mixture, a surface layer material and a base cloth are joined to the vinyl chloride resin layer. CONSTITUTION:A high-light-transmission film material 4 consists of a surface layer material 1, a vinyl chloride resin layer 3, and a base cloth 2. A vinyl chloride resin used for the vinyl chloride resin layer 3 contains an inorganic flame-retardant, a weathering agent both of which are finely divided into particles of a diameter smaller than the wavelength of a visible light for preventing an irregular reflection of a visible light on the surfaces of the particles, an antimony oxide of an average particle diameter of 0.2mum or less, and a titanium oxide of an average particle diameter of 0.2mum or less both of which are contained for transmitting a visible light in the total amount of 5 pts.wt. or more and a trapping agent for preventing the antimony oxide and the titanium oxide from producing radicals under the influence of an ultraviolet radiation in the amount of 5 pts.wt. or less per 100 pts.wt. on vinyl chloride resin. In addition, the high-light-transmission film material 4 has a transmittance of 20% or more.

CONSTITUTION:This formed product is formed by an extrusion forming, a cast forming or a single layer forming method comprising a water hardened material consisting essentially of cement and a silicic acid type material and a sulfur containing acrylic series flame resistant fiber being a reinforced fiber of the water hardened material and a water hardened inorganic material formed product cured and formed by an autoclave. This method consists of that the hydraulic material consisting essentially of cement and the silicic acid type material and the sulfur containing acrylic based flame resistant fiber are formed and the formed product is aged in the autoclave.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sulfide fiber having characteristics as for reinforcing a hydraulic substance, by subjecting an acrylic fiber based fiber obtained by spinning an acrylonitrile homopolymer or copolymer with other monomer to sulfidation at specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A polymer dope obtained by synthesizing an acrylonitrile (AN) homopolymer having >=1.5 polymerization degree or copolymer of >=95mol.% AN with =7g/d tensile strength and >=130g/d tensile modulus, which is then sulfidated while heating (e.g. at 230-400 deg.C) in S-containing atmosphere (e.g., SO2) under tension (e.g., >=0.3g/d) or under specified length to provide the titled sulfide fiber having =6g/d tensile strength.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a novel friction material having high strength and excellent abrasion resistance and heat resistance and suitable as vehicle brake, etc., in good working environment without using asbestos, by using a base material produced by adding a specific amount of sulfur to an acrylic flame-resistant fiber. CONSTITUTION:A sulfur-containing acrylic flame-resistant fiber having a sulfur- content of >=3(wt)%, preferably >=5% is used as a base material for the objective friction material. The base material is preferably produced e.g. by dissolving a copolymer of acrylonitrile and itaconic acid in a solvent such s dimethyl sulfoxide, spinning the dope and heating the obtained acrylic fiber in sulfur dioxide gas.
