Abstract:
An abrasive cloth which comprises an article in a sheet form having, in at least a part thereof, nanofibers comprising a thermoplastic polymer and having a number average single fiber fineness of 1 x 10 -8 to 2 x 10 -4 dtex wherein the sum of single fiber fineness percentages (which is defined in the specification) of a single fiber fineness of 1 x 10 -8 to 2 x 10 -4 dtex is the range of 60 % or more, and exhibits a stress at 10 % elongation in a longitudinal direction of 5 to 200 N/cm-width; and a method for preparing a nanofiber structure, which comprises providing a nanofiber dispersion having a dispersant and, dispersed therein, nanofibers comprising a thermoplastic polymer and having a number average diameter of 1 to 500 nm, attaching the dispersion to a support, and then removing said dispersant. The above abrasive cloth is excellent in texturing characteristics, and the above method allows the preparation of a nanofiber structure wherein nanofibers form a composite with the support.

This invention provides compound solutions, emulsions and gels excellent in homogeneous dispersibility and long-term dispersion stability and also excellent in the properties as cosmetics, using disarranged nanofibers not limited in either form or polymer, widely applicable and small in the irregularity of single fiber diameter. This invention also provides a method for producing them. Furthermore, this invention provides synthetic papers composed of fibers, small in pore area and uniform in pore size, using disarranged nanofibers, and also provides a method for producing them. This invention provides compound solutions, emulsions, gels and synthetic papers containing disarranged nanofibers of 1 to 500 nm in number average diameter and 60% or more in the sum Pa of single fiber ratios.

An object of this invention is to provide an adsorbent for immunosuppressive substance, which adsorbent can highly efficiently and selectively adsorb an excessive immunosuppressive substance directly from the body fluid, can carry out extracorporeal perfusion safely and can be utilized in treatment of cancer. Such an excessive immunosuppressive substance may be involved in growth of cancer cells. An adsorbent for immunosuppressive substance of the invention includes a water-insoluble carrier and a hydrophilic amino group immobilized to the water-insoluble carrier. An extracorporeal perfusion column of the invention contains the adsorbent of the invention. A method for treating cancer of the invention carries out extracorporeal perfusion using the extracorporeal perfusion column of the invention.

An immunosuppressive substance adsorbent capable of selectively adsorbing excess immunosuppressive substances considered to be associated with the multiplication of carcinoma cells directly from humor at high efficiency and capable of safe extracorporeal circulation, which immunosuppressive substanc e adsorbent is useful for the treatment of cancer. In particular, an immunosuppressive substance adsorbent characterized by comprising a water insoluble carrier and, fixed thereto, hydrophilic amino groups. Further, the re is provided an extracorporeal circulation column characterized by being pack ed with the above adsorbent. Still further, there is provided a method of treating cancer characterized in that extracorporeal circulation is performe d by the use of the above extracorporeal circulation column.
